I
will be the best evangelist.

and
so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners.
Then
Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch
men."
So
they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
Luke
5;10-11

Probably
you already know the Sea of Galilee. Did you know It has two more
names?. It is also called ¡®Tiberia¡¯ or ¡®Gennesaret¡¯.
4
One
day, Jesus was teaching the people the Word of God at the Lake of Gennesaret.
Many people came to hear the Word of God.
5
As
time goes on, the people increased in number so it was hard to see Jesus. He
felt the need to move to a wide place so everybody could see him.
6
He
found two boats at the seashore. The owners of the boat were washing their
nets because they had just finished their work.
7
Jesus
got into Simon¡¯s boat. As you already know Simon is Peter. Peter was with
Andrew in the boat. Jesus asked him to put out a little from the land.
8
Simon
did as Jesus said. Jesus spoke on the boat to the people about the Kingdom of
God. They were happy to hear the Word of God.
9
When
Jesus had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ¡°Launch out into the deep and
let down your nets for a catch.¡± Simon was quiet at a loss as what to do.
10
Simon
answered and said to Jesus, ¡±Master, we have toiled all night and caught
nothing. But because you say so, I will let down the nets,¡±
11
Peter
did what Jesus told him.
12
Peter
felt that the nets were getting heavy. Wow! They caught a great number of
fish and their nets began to break.
13
They
signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came
and filled both the boats so full, that they began to sink.
14
When
Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus¡¯ knees and said, ¡°Depart from me,
Lord; for I am a sinful man.¡± He thought that Jesus knows his every
thought and sin. Indeed Jesus knows everything.
15
For
he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had
taken, and so were James and John, the son of Zebedee. Because they could not
catch anything last night but now their boats were full with fish. It was a
miracle!
16
Jesus
said to Simon, ¡°Don¡¯t be afraid, from now on you will catch men.¡± This means
Peter will deliver the Word of God and through him; many people will come
back to God.
17
They
pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed Him. They
decided to follow Jesus and to become His disciples.
18
After
this, they became evangelists. 3,000 people converted to Jesus after they
heard Peter¡¯s message. Let us also decide to follow Jesus with a new, clean
heart. He will use us mightily for his Kingdom and we will experience
miracles in our lives.
