The faith of the King’s Royal Official.

[NIV] John 4:46

Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.

“My son, wake up! “ The father urgently said.

This house master is a royal official who is working in the king’s palace. This master’s son became and was never healed even though he tried many beneficial medicines.

This master thought that his own child was going to die. “I cannot allow my son to die like this.” The King’s official thought to go ask Jesus for help.

He said to his servants “You go immediately and find where Jesus is.” The servants of the master immediately went to find where Jesus was staying.

“Master! Jesus is coming down to Judea from Galilee.” When the royal official of the king heard that news, he hurriedly went to where Jesus was staying.

Where is Jesus now? Everyone! Do you remember the place where Jesus performed the first miraculous sign? Yes, it is Cana in Galilee.

This is the place Jesus performed His first miraculous sign. There was a wedding banquet. They had run out of wine. So Jesus performed the miracle when He changed the water into wine. Then the banquet ended well.

At that time, the King’s royal official came out to meet Jesus and entreated Him. “Jesus, my son has become sick and will die. I wanted to meet you, so I came from Capernaum to here. Please, heal my son.”

The king’s royal official humbled himself for his own son and came to Jesus and asked Him to heal his son. This father ran more than 34km to in order to ask Jesus to heal his son dies.

The father urgently asked Jesus again. “Jesus, before my child dies, please come with me and heal my son.” His house was far, so he wanted to leave immediatly.

Jesus spoke to this the father. He said, “Going back home. I already healed your son.” Jesus spoke that he healed the child by His word without going there personally.

The king’s royal official believed in Jesus’ Word. He said, “Yes, I will go and trust your word. Thank you.”

The king’s royal official hurried back home. He is ran fast because he was going a long distance. After several hours, he met his servant in the street.

The happy servants met him on the street to speak to their master. “Master, your son was healed.” Now he is so happy because when he left the house, his son was dying but now he is healed.

So he asked his servants. “When was my son healed?”

“At 1 P.M, suddenly the fever of your son was healed.”

He realized that was the time that Jesus had spoken that his son was healed. Jesus healed the child by His Word even though that child was 34km from there.

When the king’s royal official went back home, all the family was delighted and they believed that Jesus was the Son of God.

When we have a very difficult situation, just pray to Jesus. He will answer our prayer and solve all our problems. And just like this king’s royal official, we should have faith that Jesus is the Son of God and also should believe that he is the Living God.
