Let’s be Guided by the Holy Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. [Galatians 5:22~23]

When we believe in Jesus Christ, we become children of God.
And if anyone believes Jesus Christ died to save us from our sins, they will also become children of God.

Becoming a child of God is the biggest blessing and greatest happiness.  
So for those who receive those big blessings they should be careful to follow all the words of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ told us to take care of our neighbors as if they are our own bodies.
But we don’t follow those words, and even worse we hurt our friends and we treat them any way we please.

And this kind of thing also happened when Apostle Paul was alive. At that time, Christians were fighting with other Christians and sometimes they did bad things to each other.

So Apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians, to teach those people who didn’t act right even though they believed in God. And the secret was to follow the Holy Spirit.

If we believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit helps us to follow the words of Jesus.
And the Holy Spirit always leads us to do good and right things.

But there is something that makes us not to follow the Holy Spirit. And that bad thing is called “Greed” that's inside of us. And this “Greed” always tells our bodies to do something bad. It always leads us to go the opposite way from where the Holy Spirit is trying to lead us.

For example, if there is a friend who sings well, the Holy Spirit leads us to cheer them on.
But this greed will tell us to say bad things about that friend.

The Holy Spirit also tells us to be good with friends who are different in thought and living. But the greed inside of us tells us to only be friendly with those you’re closest to and know well.

And this also happens among adults. The Holy Spirit tells them not to be drunk and waste their lives. But greed tells us to drink as much as we like, in addition, it also tells us to do some bad things.

So Apostle Paul wrote, “Something your body wants is what the Holy Spirit hates, and something that the Holy Spirit likes is what our body hates.”

Because Adam and Eve committed sin, we also have sin since our birth.

And because of our sin since birth, we have bad habits and wrong minds.

That’s why Apostle Paul is telling us that to win against our bodies, we need to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. So that we can get into the habit of following the words of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible tells us that if we follow the Holy Spirit then we will bear good fruit in our lives. So now let’s see what kind of fruit we can bear when we follow the Holy Spirit.

Let’s read the bible verse: "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” The Bible tells us that those who follow the Holy Spirit will have 9 different beautiful kinds of fruit.

People who follow the Holy Spirit will truly love their neighbors. And they will have happiness in their life with joy. And also they will have good relationships with any person.

And those people who follow the Holy Spirit won’t get nervous even though they encounter tests in their lives. They also will become generous to those who committed sins. For their doing, they will always do it with righteousness.

Those people who follow the Holy Spirit will work hard. They will treat others kindly and good because they will have a good character. And they won’t do what they should not do, and they can wait for their time.

There is a huge difference in those who don’t follow the Holy Spirit and those who follow. And for us who are children of God we should always follow the Holy Spirit. So, for those of you who have listened carefully today you will receive a beautiful blessing in your hearts.
