The Birth of Jesus

2

(Luke 2:6-7)

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

3

Today is Christmas when the great king Jesus came to the earth.

Say to your friends, "Merry Christmas!!"

4

What do you think of when you think about a king?

5

You may think of a big palace, fancy gold clothing, and a throne with beautiful decor.

6

When a prince of a king is born, a festival would be held.

They would prepare the best room and everything for him.

And all people would be pleased with the birth of the prince.

7

However, there was none like that for Jesus, the great king who was born lonely and shabby. Even though he is the king who is the master of whole world and the king of the universe.

8

Jesus left all of the glory of heaven and came to save us through Mary's body.

9

According to Caesar's command, pregnant Mary and Joseph went to their hometown Bethlehem.

However, there was no empty room for them to give birth to Jesus in Bethlehem.

10

Finally, Joseph and Mary could stay in only a stable of horses.

Joseph made the floor of the stable soft and laid Mary on it to give birth to a baby. Jesus came to the earth in such humbleness.

11

There was no place where Jesus could lay down.

So Mary put cloths on the manger and laid Jesus down.

Jesus was laid not on a good bed but in an animal manger.

12

At first, shepherds who feed sheep in the field heard the news of Jesus' birth.

Angels of the Lord told them that Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

13

Only poor shepherds congratulated the birth of Jesus.

They bowed down before Jesus.

14

Jesus was born not in a room but in a stable.

He was laid down on a manger of horses because he had no other place to stay.

And a few shepherds congratulated Jesus who came from heaven.

15

Jesus came to a very low and humble place on the earth.

Jesus lived with the poor and preached the gospel during his life.

16

Today on Christmas, lights all around the streets are lit up brightly with Christmas trees and the sound of Christmas carols. Some people do not know what this day is really about so they just treat it as a day to waste away.

17

You should think deeply about Jesus' love to save you. If you believe in Jesus with all your heart, God will lift you up. You should not have an arrogant mind and you should be sincere, faithful people like Jesus.
