Jesus Raised the Widow's Son

When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry."

Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still.

He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. (Luke 7:13~15)

Jesus knows all about our sickness and sadness.

One day, Jesus passed by a town called Nain around the sea of Galilee.

A large crowd and his disciples went along with Jesus.
Because there were many people who wanted to be healed by Jesus after listening to Jesus' words.

As he approached the town gate, another group of people came out of it.
A dead person was being carried out.

The dead person was a young man.
His mother cried out sadly for her dead son and went along with it.

She was a widow. However that had been her only son so she was so sad.

When Jesus saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry." Jesus comforted her.

Then Jesus went up and touched the coffin. Those carrying it stood still.
The people wondered what Jesus would do.

Jesus said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!"
Jesus ordered for the dead young man to get up.

It was a miracle. The dead man started to get up. Jesus had saved him.

Then he sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

They were all filled with awe and fear.
Because they saw that the dead man had been raised up from the death with their own eyes.
They realized that Jesus had power like the ability of God who can do anything.

They said, "A great prophet has appeared among us."
They praised God, "God send this man to help his people."

Jesus had known that the mother of the dead man had sadness and solved her problem.
Jesus knows all of our sadness and pain, and can solve them as a powerful man.

Jesus is the powerful God who can solve every difficult and hard thing that we have.
Therefore, from now on, we should pray to Jesus whenever we are in a lot of trouble and Jesus will solve it.
