The Virgin Mary Became the Mother of Jesus

2

(Luke 1:41-42)

When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!

3

In a town named Nazareth, there was a virgin who was going to get married.
That virgin's name was Mary.
Mary was going to get married to a man named Joseph.

4

One day, an amazing thing happened to Mary.
God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary.
The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and said,
"Be happy, highly favored woman. Our LORD is with you."

5

Mary got surprised by the words of the angel. In her mind she thought,
'What kind of greeting may this be?'
The angel continued speaking to Mary.

6

"Mary, do not worry. You have found favor with God.
You will be pregnant. When you deliver the child, name him 'Jesus'.
This child will be called the Son of the Most High God."

7

Mary asked the angel, "I am a virgin who did not even get married.
How can a virgin like me get pregnant?"

8

"The Holy Spirit will come to you and the power of the Most High God will cover you.Your relative Elizabeth is old but she is also pregnant and she is in her sixth month. With God nothing is impossible."

9

After hearing Gabriel's words, Mary greatly believed in God. She replied,
"I am the servant of God. I believe that everything you have said will be done."
After hearing that, the angel Gabriel left.

10

After Gabriel left, Mary hurriedly left the house.
Mary left the house to meet Elizabeth, who was pregnant in her old age.

11

Mary went inside the house and greeted Elizabeth.
When Mary greeted Elizabeth, the Holy Spirit came to Elizabeth.
The child in Elizabeth's womb got happy and jumped for joy.

12

Elizabeth said in a loud voice, "Mary, you are the most blessed among women.
The child in your womb is truly blessed.
When you greeted me, the child in my womb got happy and jumped for joy."

13

After seeing that Elizabeth was pregnant, Mary realized that the words of the angel were true. She praised God. "I praise God for doing such an amazing work through a low person like me.The Mighty God had done great things for me. Through this, all the people will call me blessed."

14

Mary and Elizabeth became women with God's special grace.
First, Elizabeth was too old to be pregnant but by the grace of God, she bore the great prophet John the Baptist. She became a woman of a miracle.

15

Even Mary who was a virgin, got pregnant through the Holy Spirit and bore Jesus.Mary became a woman of a miracle, too. She got amazing grace of becoming the bodily mother of our Jesus Christ, the Savior who came to this world to save us.

16

Mary bore Jesus through the Holy Spirit and from Mary's body, Jesus came to this world. Christmas is the day of remembering the coming of our Jesus Christ. Looking at us going to hell because of our sins, God was so sad so God sent HIS One and Only Son, Jesus Christ, to us.

17

So we should spend Christmas with giving thanks to God for HIS grace of sending Jesus to us. Also, we should share about Jesus' love of coming to this world to save us through that our family and all the people may believe Jesus and go to heaven.
