Barnabas Supported Paul

2

(Acts 9:26-27) When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.

3

When the first church started, there was one very faithful man.

His name was Barnabas.

4

Barnabas always followed God's words.
Barnabas heard the words of God preached by the Apostles and he was touched to hear that he should help poor people.

5

Barnabas sold the field he had and he brought the money to the Apostles.
"Please use this money for poor people."
He gave the money to the Apostles.

6

There was a time when the well-known Apostle Paul had a big problem.

Before, Paul was an Apostle, he used to capture and imprison believers of Jesus.

Jesus met this Paul and changed him to a believer.

7

Paul believed in Jesus and he wanted to meet the other Apostles in Jerusalem.

But everyone did not want to meet Paul because they were afraid of him.

The Apostles did not believe that Paul had really become a believer and follower of Jesus.

8

But Barnabas believed in this Paul and he brought Paul to the Apostles.

Then, to make the Apostles believe, Barnabas explained how Paul met Jesus.

9

By the help of Barnabas, from that day, Paul bravely told the gospel with the other believers of Jesus. Just like this Barnabas helped other people and supported them.

10

In Antioch, the people started to believe Jesus.

The Jerusalem church heard that news and decided to send Barnabas to serve the church of Antioch.

11

Barnabas saw the grace of God in the church of Antioch and he was so thankful.

Barnabas was faithful and full of the Holy Spirit. As he started working, more people gathered in the church of Antioch to believe Jesus.

12

To teach the people in the church well, Barnabas needed someone.

So he went to Tarsus to meet Paul.

Then, he brought Paul to work in the church of Antioch.

13

Paul and Barnabas taught lots of people in the church of Antioch.

For 1 year, they served many people by teaching the words of God in the church of Antioch. Through Barnabas, Paul was able to serve the church of Antioch.

14

The people who heard the words of God from Barnabas and Paul, followed the words of God. They followed the words of Jesus and they really loved their neighbors. The people in Antioch called them as Christians.

15

The Holy Spirit wanted Barnabas and Paul to leave the church of Antioch to make them missionaries in several places. They followed the words of the Holy Spirit. The people in the church of Antioch sent these two people as the first missionaries.

16

Barnabas helped Paul and told the gospel in many places. Paul, who was raised by Barnabas became one of the most greatest Apostles. And Paul wrote many books in the Bible.  Even today, Paul benefits us.

17

Through Barnabas, God used Paul as a great man. God is glad with people who help weak people, just like how Barnabas did. Let us also look around and find those people whom we should help and work together. I hope you can become faithful people who can support and work together with them.
