Jesus Love us Even to the Point of Death

2

(Mark 14:36)

"Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

3

Jesus came to save us and to open the way to heaven. To achieve this, Jesus took all of our sins and died on the cross. Before taking the way of the cross, Jesus brought Peter, James and John and went up to Gethsemane.

4

Jesus told the three disciples. "My soul is suffering. Be awake and pray for me."

5

When Jesus was in this world, Jesus was a human just like us. Jesus felt hunger and pain just like us so to be crucified on a cross was a very scaring thing to have to deal with.

6

Jesus earnestly prayed to God. "Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me." Jesus was so afraid to take the way of the cross so Jesus prayed if he could refuse this way.

7

But Jesus prayed for God to be the one to make the final decision. "Yet not what I will, but what you will." Jesus prayed that he would take the way of cross if we could be saved even though the suffering of death would follow.

8

After his first prayer, Jesus went to the disciples but the disciples were deeply sleeping. Jesus told these disciples. "Simon, are you sleeping? Can't you be awake even for an hour and pray with me? Pray so that you won't fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the body is weak!" Jesus awoke the disciples and went back to pray.

9

Jesus prayed again for the second time. Jesus prayed so earnestly that he began to sweat all over and when the sweat fell, it became like beads of blood.

10

Jesus again prayed for the third time. "Take this cup away from me. Yet not what I will, but do what YOU will, God."

11

After his third prayer, Jesus went back to his disciples and saw that they were sleeping again. The disciples just slept. They did not pray for Jesus, who was about to take the cross to save them.

12

In the middle of the night, the chief priests and elders, who wanted to kill Jesus, came with Judas Iscariot, the traitor. On that night, they accused Jesus as a great sinner.

13

On the next day, they brought Jesus to Pontius Pilate and forced Pontius Pilate to crucify Jesus on the cross. This Pontius Pilate knew that Jesus had no sin to be crucified but he was afraid that a riot might occur so he sentenced the crucifixion of Jesus.

14

The soldiers of Rome struck Jesus and mocked him. Then they put a crown of thorns on the head of Jesus. They hailed and shouted. "Hail, King of the Jews!" The soldiers struck the head of Jesus with a reed and spit on Jesus.

15

After mocking Jesus, they led Jesus to crucify him. While Jesus carried the cross along the way, the people standing along the road pointed their fingers at him and cursed Jesus. Jesus was dragged to Golgotha, the crucifying place.

16

The soldiers of Rome nailed the hands and feet of Jesus. Then, they stood at the cross. Jesus took our sins and greatly suffered. The only way to save us is forgiving our sins on the cross so Jesus suffered this pain.

17

We should suffer because of our sins but Jesus took it for us. Jesus suffered all the punishment of sin for us. Now, we should rely on Jesus, who shed blood for us and confess him in faith. If we do this, we will receive eternal life from Jesus. Everyday, we should remember the love of Jesus and do things that can make Jesus happy.
