The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

I Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus

2

[Matthew 28:5-7]

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

3

Before Jesus died on the cross, Jesus prophesied to his disciples.
Jesus told them that he was going to rise again after 3 days from his death.

4

When Jesus told them this, nobody could understand what he meant. Then, not even one disciple believed that Jesus was going to rise again after 3 days from his death. Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins.

5

Joseph of Arimathea buried Jesus in the grave he had.
The dead body of Jesus was wrapped in a clean linen cloth and kept deeply in the grave. Many people were sad by the death of Jesus.

6

Then, on the dawn of the third day, a very big earthquake happened around the grave of Jesus and an angel came down from heaven. That angel rolled away the big stone that blocked the grave of Jesus and sat on it.

7

Upon seeing this, the guards were so afraid of him that they froze like dead people and could not move. But they saw everything that was happening in front of them.

8

The angel said to the women that came to see the grave of Jesus. "Don't be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. Jesus is not here. He rose again like what he said. Go quickly and tell the disciples like this; 'Jesus has risen from the dead and he has already gone ahead of you into Galilee. You can meet Jesus there.'"

9

Upon hearing this, the women left the grave afraid but also filled with joy. At that moment, Jesus appeared in front of the women and said, "How are you? Do not be afraid and go to my brothers and tell them to go to Galilee. They will see me there." Jesus truly had risen again as he had told them he would.

10

The guards of the grave went to the chief priests to tell about the things that had happened. These guards told them everything as it was. Upon hearing it, the chief priests were so surprised.

11

The chief priests and the elders quickly gathered and talked.
Then, they made a very bad decision.
They decided to hide the truth about the resurrection of Jesus.

12

They gave a lot of money to the guards who saw the resurrection of Jesus.
Then told them to tell a lie.
"Do not ever say what you have really seen and tell the people that the disciples came at night and stole the body of Jesus."

13

The chief priests and the elders did not believe in the resurrection of Jesus even though they had heard the report about it. The Jews believed only the lies of the guards and thought that the disciples had stolen the body of Jesus.

14

Jesus, like what he had promised, went to Galilee ahead of the disciples. The disciples went to the mountain that Jesus said for them to go to. They met Jesus there and worshiped him.

15

"God has given all the authority of heaven and earth to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations." Jesus gave a great gift and command to the disciples.

16

The disciples saw the resurrection of Jesus and they got to believe that Jesus is the One and only Savior so they followed the words of Jesus and did the work of telling the gospel to the whole world. That gospel has been passed down to us and we now have been given the grace for believing in Jesus.

17

Dear friends, The Bible says that Jesus rose again from the dead. Do you believe it? If the resurrection of Jesus is a lie then the believers of Jesus would be the most pitiful people in the world. However, we clearly believe that the resurrection of Jesus is a historical truth. On the last day, all the believers of Jesus will gloriously revive and be with God.
