Holy Spirit in Pentecost

2

[Acts 2:38]

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

3

Jesus, who overcame death and resurrected, stayed forty days in the Earth.

Jesus promised His disciples to send the Holy Spirit and went up to heaven.

4

The disciples gathered together and waited for the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus.

About 120 people waited for the Holy Spirit. They prayed very hard.

5

At Pentecost, one of the Jewish festivals, all the disciples were gathered in one place.

On that day, when they were praying hard, a warm aura came to the people who gathered.

The shape of the tongue of fire split from the sky filled the whole room.

6

Their shapes rested on the heads of all people.

The Holy Spirit that Jesus promised came.

Those who received the Holy Spirit were overjoyed.

7

They went out and began to brave Jesus to people.

There were people from different countries and provinces.

The Holy Spirit gave the disciples the ability to speak the language of another country so

that the gathered people could hear it from the mouth of the disciples who preached the

gospel.

8

The people began to pay attention to the disciples, and the apostle Peter began to speak

solemnly about Jesus in public.

Peter tells people about Jesus who suffered crucifixion and suffered death.

And he said that Jesus, who was slain, rose again by the power of God and ascended into

heaven.

9

At the end of the sermon, Peter said to those gathered there : ¡°Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.¡±(Ac 2:36, ESV)

10

Because of Peter's preaching, the people gathered there were greatly pierced in their hearts.

They were afraid because they did not recognize Jesus, the Messiah, who came to this

land, and crucified him. They said to Peter, "Then what shall we do?"

11

The apostle Peter told them.

¡°Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, each one. Then your sins will be

forgiven and you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.¡±

12

Many people heard Peter and repented of their sins.

and they were baptized in the name of Jesus and received forgiveness of sins.

Through Peter's preaching, the number of people who heard the word of God and

believed in Jesus and was baptized became 3,000.

13

And the Holy Spirit made astonishing miracles happen through the apostles.

It was a miracle that a man who had never walked in his life arose and walked.

Those who witnessed this miracle came to believe that God lives.

14

Everyone who had Jesus as Lord came together and worshiped God. This was the first

church to have come to believe in Jesus, the church in Jerusalem. The people of the

church in Jerusalem kept the words of Jesus.

15

The believers who gathered in the church in Jerusalem used and shared the things they

had with each other.

And the wealthy people sold their possessions and distributed the money to the poor believers.

16

And they shared the love of Jesus while eating together in order at each house.

Others who saw the behavior of this beautiful church community greatly praised them.

More and more people believe in Jesus by seeing their good deeds.

17

Jesus, who was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven, sent the Holy Spirit to his

disciples as promised. From that time, the Holy Spirit God has always joined Jesus with all

those who serve Him. Today, the Holy Spirit is working for the believers. The Holy Spirit

helps us live a life of obedience to God and Jesus with joy. Through the Holy Spirit who

is with us forever, I hope that you will always be strong and willing to rejoice in God.
