David who defeated Philistine by prayer

2

[1 Chronicles 14:16-17]

So David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army, all the way from Gibeon to Gezer. So David's fame spread throughout every land, and the LORD made all the nations fear him.

3

David was being driven out of Saul, and he always obeyed God's will. In the midst of crisis, God has made David king of Israel, who trusts in God and relies on God alone.

4

The news that David was king of Israel spread to neighboring countries. The king of the Philistines heard this news and ordered an attack on Israel. ¡°Immediately attack Israel and seize King David¡±

5

The Philistines who had been commanded came into the Valley of Rephaim in the south-western part of Jerusalem. When David heard this news, he led the military to fight against them.

6

It was a pressing situation, but David first prayed to God. ¡°God, will I attack the Philistines? Will you help me to defeat them?¡±

7

The God who listened to David's prayer answered. ¡°Go! I will allow you to overcome them.¡± God promised David to win.

8

David boldly went to war, believing God's promise. God helped the army of David defeat the army of the Philistines at once. The Philistines were greatly defeated and returned to their land.

9

They ran away and left their idols. David burned all the idols of the Philistines and celebrated the victory of God. God, who listened to David's prayer, was with him, and David had a great victory in the battle against the Philistines.

10

The King of the Philistines, who was greatly defeated in the battle against King David, did not give up and led a second military attack. They again attacked the valley of Rephaim and harassed the people of Israel.

11

David heard this news and prayed again to God.

¡°God, the Philistine army has come in again. What do I have to do?¡± David did not forget to pray, no matter how urgent he was. He prayed to God without depending on his strength or knowledge.

12

God answered David's prayer again this time.

¡°Take the soldiers and do not attack them from the front, but go back to them and attack them quickly from across the forest of mulberry trees. If they hear you marching in the mulberry field, let them attack quickly. I will go first and defeat the Philistines.¡±

13

David received the promise that God would go before Israel and defeat the Philistines. He acted as God had said. The Philistine army, entering the mulberry field, was attacked by the army of David and was completely defeated.

14

This time David was with God, and David was victorious. Because of this, the name of David was higher, and the nations around Israel were afraid of King David, and there was no country to dare to attack them.

15

Today David had two great victories against the Philistines. It was because the God of Israel was pleased with David's prayer that he could win in two wars. David clearly believed that God is the one who determines victory and defeat of war.

16

As king of Israel, the kingdom of God, David always performed the war of God by faith. In the battle against the Philistine giant, Goliath, before he became king, David confessed the following famous faith: Read it together.

¡°All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; t and he will give all of you into our hands.¡±

17

God is the Most Powerful King to fight for His people! If we believe that God decides everything, we must be the ones who pray to God before we can make our own decisions no matter what we do. Let's pray first to God Almighty rather than putting our thoughts and strengths first so that we have good faith habits that depend on God alone.

I hope that all the friends who live the life of faith that God is pleased with.
