When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!"
For Jesus had commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.

Jesus cast out Legion Devil

2

[ Luke 8:28-29]

When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, ¡°What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don¡¯t torture me!¡± For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.

3

Jesus arrived in a town with his disciples. It was called ¡®Gadarenes¡¯ and also called ¡®Gerasenes¡¯.

4

There was a man in the town with a dirty devil. The man lived among the tombs. The man whose devil occupies the body was so powerful that it always threatened people.

5

People tried to subdue him several times to keep him bound. They tied him in chains, but to no avail. How strong he was, he broke the chains.

6

They also handcuffed him with chains. But this was no use either. Because he broke off the chains and handcuffs.

7

This man shouted day and night, roaming the tombs and mountains, hurting himself with stones. The villagers were afraid because of this person.

8

When Jesus got off the boat, the man found Jesus and ran to him. Knowing that the devil had entered this man's body, Jesus commanded the devil in that man. ¡°Dirty devil! Come out of him!¡±

9

When Jesus gave the command, the devil in the man fell down at Jesus' feet, bowed to him, and began to speak aloud through his mouth. "Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what has to do with me? Please don't bother me."

10

Jesus asked the devil in the man. ¡°What is your name?¡± The devil answered Jesus. ¡°It's called ¡®Legion¡¯. It is so named because of our many numbers.¡± The reason this man's power was so strong was because there were thousands of demons in his body.

11

The demons eagerly told Jesus their needs. ¡°Please do not cast us out into abyss(hell). Let us go into those pigs.¡± The devils saw swarms of prey on the hillsides and begged Jesus to let themselves in the pigs.

12

Jesus allowed the demons to come out of the man and enter the pigs. At that moment, the demons called Legion came out of the man and entered the pigs. The deviled pigs ran down the slope and jumped into the lake and died. That number was two thousand.

13

The owners of pigs rushed to the lake when they heard that their pigs died in a lake. They were amazed to see the devil running around the mountain sitting in front of Jesus, dressed in a clear spirit.

14

Those who saw what Jesus had done explained to the owners of the pig. However, after hearing what Jesus did, the pig owners did not accept Jesus. They demanded that Jesus leave this region quickly so that they would no longer lose.

15

Jesus got into a boat and sat down to leave the country. At that time, the man who was demonized and perfected asked Jesus to go with Him. Jesus did not allow it, but instead commissioned his family and friends to go and share what Jesus did to him today.

16

The man obeyed the words of Jesus. He traveled to Degaboli where he lived and told people what Jesus had done to him. It was amazing to those who heard of Jesus' ability to cast out demons through this man. People have come to know that Jesus is the great One who has the power to cast out demons.

17

Satan tries to put people into bad situations at will. But we saw clearly that Jesus had the power to overcome Satan. Satan can use no power before Jesus. And even if we were in trouble, we knew that anyone who met Jesus could change and live a new life.

I hope that you too can live a life where you have met Jesus and share the grace that you have received through the story of a restored man.
