Faith to be thankful for
everything
2
[ 1 Thessalonians 5:18]
give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is God¡¯s will for you in Christ Jesus.
3
The
greatest evidence of a person who believes in Jesus and becomes a child of
God is 'overflowing thanks.' 1 Thessalonians 5:18 exhorts us:
¡°give thanks
in all circumstances; for this is God¡¯s will for you in Christ Jesus.¡±
In the
Bible, there are people of faith who have not lost their gratitude under any
circumstances as we have just read.

The first
man to meet is Daniel. Daniel was forcibly taken to Babylon when the nation
of Judah came to ruin. But God greatly exalted Daniel, the man of faith. He
made him the prime minister who actually ruled the nation of Babylon.
5
Daniel had
good faith habits. Daniel thanked God and prayed three times a day. but he
was in a crisis where he could not offer this prayer of thanks.
6
The jealous
of Daniel made a false law that only one month should be prayed to the king.
Anyone who violated the law had to be punished by being thrown into a lion's
den and killed.
7
Daniel knew
that if he offered thanks to God, he would be thrown into a lion's den and
died. But Daniel did not stop praying. Daniel was eventually thrown into the
lions' den by the envy of his king's men.

God was
with Daniel who was thrown into the den of lions. God sent angels to keep the
lions from harming Daniel. Daniel did not stop giving thanks to God in the
face of the threat of death. Because of this, Daniel is remembered as a man
of faith who has thanked all things.

The second
one is the Apostle Paul. Paul went on a missionary journey to preach Jesus
for the rest of his life. He did a good work of preaching the gospel, but he
faced numerous challenges and crises in doing it.
10
When Paul
and Silas went to Philippi, they saw a child possessed by a demon. Paul cast
out demons from the child by God's power. The child was right back.
11
His healing
of the poor child was not enough to be praised, but he was severely beaten by
it. Not ending there, he was faced with the shackles of being handcuffed to
prison. The actions of the Philippians were very unjust and wrong.
12
Paul and
Silas could have been complaining to God because they were beaten and
imprisoned while preaching the gospel. Paul and Silas, however, thanked God
for their suffering for Jesus and shouted in prayer.
13
The apostle
Paul was imprisoned in Roman prison before martyrdom. There, the apostle Paul
was restless in preaching Jesus, preaching the gospel to everyone he met.
Paul's story of preaching the gospel while in prison has been a great help
for those in Rome.
14
They were
challenged and strengthened by the Apostle Paul and began to preach the
gospel. This news really pleased the apostle Paul in prison. The apostle Paul
thanked God that some of the believers were strengthened because of him.
15
On the
contrary, some people were envious. They disliked the apostle Paul's
recognition. They wanted to show that they were far more capable than the
Apostle Paul. They preached Jesus with the wrong desire to be higher than the
Apostle Paul.
16
The apostle
Paul did not get angry or disappointed because of this. Paul confessed the
situation: ¡°But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every
way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of
this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,¡±(Php 1:18)
No
circumstances and difficulties had taken Paul's gratitude.
17
The
greatest evidence of being a child of God is to say thank you to God and to
act in ways that are thankful. Those who stay in the grace of salvation and
with the Holy Spirit can be thankful in any situation.
I hope that
God, our Heavenly Father, you believe He knows all things, and that we can be
people of faith who can give language of thanksgiving, prayer of gratitude,
praise for thanks.
