Gratitude to the Triune God on Christmas Day

2

[ Luke 2:11~12]

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

3

Today is Christmas to celebrate Jesus' birth. Christmas is a big day for us who believe in Jesus. Because Jesus came to this earth, we were saved.

4

We who believe in Jesus and are saved must worship with great joy on this day. Worship must be given with sincere gratitude to the Triune God who gave Christmas.

5

First, we must give true thanks to God the Father who kept his promise of salvation. The Father God made plans to save man from the moment he sinned.

6

Satan used snakes to deceive humans to eat good and evil fruit and to sin. Because of sin, man fell from salvation. Man have fallen into a miserable state that cannot be reconciled with God by human power.

7

God punished the serpent for deceiving man to sin. The punishment was to be cursed, crawling on belly, and eating dust for life.

¡°So the LORD God said to the serpent, ¡°Because you have done this, ¡°Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.¡±(Gn 3:14)

8

The Father who punished the serpent God gave a secret word of promise. It was said that the Messiah who came to earth as a human body would triumph over the serpent's head.

¡°And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.¡±(Gn 3:15)

9

Father, God sent the descendants of the promised woman to this earth. Christmas is the day when the Father, God sent ¡°Jesus¡±, the descendant of the woman, as promised. We should be thankful for God's grace for sending Jesus by keeping our promise to save us.

10

Second, thank God the Holy Spirit for fulfilling the word of promise. God the Holy Spirit fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies spoken by the Father, God.

11

The Holy Spirit, present to Isaiah, foretold how Jesus would come to earth. It will come through the miracle of impregnating the body of an unmarried virgin.

¡°Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.¡±(Isaiah 7:14)

12

Holy Spirit, God has made this possible. God the Holy Spirit created a miracle to conceive Jesus in the body of the Virgin Mary in Nazareth. Thank God the Holy Spirit for giving us the joy of Christmas.

13

The third is to thank Jesus, the Son, who came to earth as a human body. The Son, Jesus created the world with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He is also the Creator God who created our human beings.

14

The Son Jesus is the Creator who made the whole world and human beings. God, the Creator, became a man directly to save man from sin. God came down directly to the place of low and low human beings.

15

The lowing of the Son Jesus is the marvelous love He gives to man. This love that Jesus has bestowed upon us is incomparable even if we add up all the love in the world. We must give thanks to Jesus, the Son who gave us this love.

16

People who do not know Jesus are happy without knowing the meaning of Christmas. They may undermine the meaning of Christmas by doing things that are not pleasing to God. They do not know how blessed and beautiful this day is, and they are immersed in the joy of the visible world.

17

But we must not be as restrained as others are saved by Jesus' coming to earth. We must give true thanks to the Triune God for giving us this Christmas gift. We must be a people of faith who will remember the love and grace received from the birth of Jesus and give glory to the Triune God.

18

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple was torn. It is now a declaration that anyone who believes that Jesus died on behalf of sinners can come to God through Jesus. Thus, through the tabernacle, God revealed abundantly Jesus who will save us in the future.

We are to be people of faith who realize how grateful and precious the salvation we believe in Jesus through the grace of God through the tabernacle, and thank God for, and practice God's will.
