God
saw the faith of the young David
2
[ Psalm 89:20 ]
I have found David my servant; with my sacred
oil I have anointed him.
3
There was a man
named Jesse in Bethlehem. Jesse had eight sons. The youngest son's name was
¡®David¡¯.
4
Jesse ordered
¡®David¡¯ the youngest son to work with sheep. David worked hard to do his own
good job. One of the most important things of the shepherd was to protect the
sheep from the wild beasts.
5
The shepherds used
slingshots to protect the sheep. The slingshot was an important weapon for
the shepherds because it could hit targets from a distance. David trained a
slingshot when he had a chance to protect the sheep.
6
David trained hard,
believing that God would help him. God helped David improve his slingshot
skills. Every time he set a target and threw a stone, the stone that left the
sling hit the target accurately.
7
One day, David found
a bear biting a sheep. David did not hesitate to use the slingshot towards
the bear. slingshot was hit with a bear exactly. David rescued his sheep from
the fallen bear.
8
Also, one day a lion approached
David's flock and bite a lamb. David saw this and threw a sling shot towards
the lion. The stone that left David's hand hit the lion's head exactly.
9
David slaughtered the lion's mane and
killed it so that the lion hit by the sling shot no longer bothered the
sheep. David saved a sheep that could be caught and eaten by a lion. David
did his best to ensure the safety of the sheep entrusted to him.
10
Later, before King
Saul, David confessed that it was because of God's help that he could defeat
the lion and the bear.
¡°The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the
bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.¡± [1 Samuel 17:37]
David clearly
believed that God was the one who guarded those who trusted and depended on
God.

God commanded Samuel
to choose the man who would be king after Saul.
¡ºFill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am
sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.¡±¡» [1 Samuel 16:1]
12
Samuel, who went to
Jesse's house, had one of Jesse's sons pass by himself. The first son,
¡°Eliab,¡± had a great height and great looks. Samuel thought, ¡®God will surely
make this man the next king.¡¯
13
But God said to
Samuel. ¡°Don't look at Eliab's tall stature and great looks. I did not elect
Eliab. What I see is not the same as what humans see. Humans see the
appearance of man, but I, Jehovah, see the heart of man. ¡± God did not choose
any of Jesse's seven sons.
14
The only remaining
man was David, the youngest sheep in the field. David was urgently called and
stood before Samuel. At that moment, the voice of God was heard by Samuel.
Then the Lord said, ¡°Rise and anoint him; this is the one.¡± [1 Samuel
16:12]
15
Samuel anointed the
head of the young David and made him king of the future. God already knew
David's love for God. I saw David doing his best, believing that God would
protect him. According to David's faith, God was always with David.
16
David praised God
whenever he could afford to care for the sheep. God was watching David play
the harp and praise God. No one knew the faith in the young David, but God
saw David at the center of his heart and chose David today.
17
People judge what is
visible, but God knows and judges deep thoughts in our hearts. Little David
may have been small and insignificant to a man, but God looked upon and
revered God in David.
God says that David
is ¡°a man who fits my heart¡± [Acts 13:22].
I hope that all the
friends who have heard today will be children who are loved by God by
purifying their hearts and relying on and fearing God.
