I
am the vine; you are the branches.

2

"I
am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he
will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
John
15:5(NIV)
3
There
is a beautiful vineyard. And there is a famer who works very hard in that
vineyard
4
He
takes good care of his vineyard. From early morning until late evening he
cares for the vines and gives water so that they can bear good fruit and
offer good nutrients
5
Finally,
harvest time has come, he has inspected the grapevines. There are really
desirable and appetizing branches of grapes in abundance on the grapevine
6
Ah!
But some branches bear a grape that looks like very miserable and some
branches never bear any good fruit.
7
So
the farmer cut off the branches that couldn¡¯t bear any good fruit. If he was
to keep those branches it would be a hindrance to the other good fruits, so
he would have to cut them off and then throw them away. In this way the
branches bear good fruits and can get more nutrients so that can bear very
good grapes.
8
The
cut branches cannot bear fruit any longer and will wilt and die. What will
happen to these branches?
9
The
people will together these branches gather to burn them.
10
Jesus
explained this story as follows:
11
¡±
The farmer that works in the vineyard is God. ¡°
12
¡±
And I am the vine. ¡°
13
¡°And
the branches are you¡±. In other words, we are the branches who remain in the
vine of Jesus.
14
Continuously
Jesus says.
¡°If
the branch does not remain in the vine it can¡¯t bear good fruit. Like this,
when you remain in me you can bear good fruit. ¡°
15
¡±
But if you do not remain in me and you go your own way, you will be useless,
just like cut off the branch that is collected and thrown into the burning
fire.
16
What
does it mean to remain in Jesus? What shell we do as we are the branches of
the vine of Jesus? This is what Jesus said.
17
It
means those who keep the Word of God are remaining in Jesus. It means to
listen and meditate on the Word of God and to live by its precepts when we do
this we have a beautiful appearance like a good branch can bear desirable
fruits.
18
There
is a great gift from God for the person who keeps the Word of God in their
heart. That is the answered prayer from God when we pray according to God¡¯s
will.
19
So
our children, I hope you should be remaining in the vine of Jesus. Every day
you must become a person of deeper faith and live according to the Word of
God. We will receive the blessing of being a great faithful man who bears
beautiful fruit.
