Children are a treasure from heaven

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
When he had placed his hands on them, he
went on from there.
(NIV Matthew 19:14-15)

Today is Children¡¯s Sunday. Congratulations to
all the children!

Why is the screen full of flowers? Children¡¯s
Sunday was called Flower Sunday originally.
5
In 1856, Children¡¯s Sunday was started by Rev.
Renard in Universalist Church in America.
6
He made every service on the 2nd
Sunday of June especially for children.
When the church nearby heard about this, they
began to do the same as Rev. Renard.
The particular services for children are on the 2nd
Sunday of June.

In 1870,
on this special day, a pastor in Community church in Massachusetts decorated
the whole church with flowers. Because he believed that children are like
beautiful and fragrant flowers he made a memorable day to decorate the whole
church with flowers

He put the children in charge of all the order of
service and guidance, by this way the church members have a very meaningful
Sunday service to always remember.
So from that day on, Children¡¯s Sunday was called
Flower Sunday.

At first the Korean church had Children¡¯s Sunday
on the 2nd Sunday of June, but in order to match with Children¡¯s
Day, it was changed to the 1st Sunday of May.

When Jesus was on the earth, the children weren¡¯t
precious to the Jews. But Jesus loved the children very much.
11
One day the disciples of Jesus were arguing with
each other about who was the highest amongst them. Then they asked to Jesus
about it.
12
¡°Jesus, who is the highest among us?¡± They waited
for his answer.
13
Jesus called a child to come stand amongst the
disciples but not say anything. The disciples were confused. They said, ¡®Why
did Jesus make a child come stand amongst us?¡¯
14
Jesus pointed to the child and said: "I tell
you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will
never enter the kingdom of heaven.
15
¡°Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this
child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.¡±
He asked the child to stand there while he told
his disciples to have an innocent and unselfish mind like a child so they
could enter into heaven.
16
Jesus said the same words in another place a
little later. Jesus was eagerly teaching to the people. The people were so
happy when they heard from Jesus the Gospel of heaven.
17
At that time some mothers brought their children
to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them.
18
When the disciples of Jesus saw this, they are surprised.
¡°No way, how can you bring your children to Jesus at this time?¡± ¡°Don¡¯t you
see Jesus speaking to the crowd? Hurry, move away from here to an other
place.¡±
19
The children¡¯s mothers were very embarrassed
because they only wanted Jesus to bless their children. At that time they
heard the loud word of Jesus Christ.
20
¡°Let the little children come to me, and do not
hinder them. The disciples and the crowd were very surprised.
21
Jesus said continually. ¡°A person like this
children enter the Kingdom of Heaven.¡± Jesus said that you must have a pure heart
like a child.
22
Jesus had placed his hand on them one by one.
They were very happy.

Young friends, let¡¯s pledge to become like a
beautiful and fragrant flower during Children¡¯s Week. Let us pledge to guard
our beautiful mind even as we become older. Jesus can bless us if we have a
beautiful mind.
