Matthew
25:21
[NIV]
"His
master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful
with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share
your master's happiness!'

Cf.
Talent (money) the talent in this parable is not a coin but a unit of
weight. One talent is about 30kg. So it will be a wages of many years. We
edit the story for easier understanding for kids.

There
was a rich man in the city. He had a lot of properties and the servants. One
day, he should go abroad for many years.
4
So,
he decided to entrust his servants with his property.
5
He
called three servants. ¡°¡° I will tell you something. I have to go
abroad for long time. Now, I will give my property to you so you have to
manage well and work hard. I will reward you when I return.¡±¡±
6
Then,
he gave his money to them.
7
The
master called first servant. He was a hard worker. So the master entrusted
him with five talents. The five talents is very big amount of money. The first
servant received a big money.
8
The
master called second servant. He gave him two talents. Two talents is also
big money.
10
The
master went to his journey. After he left, the three servants were thinking
deeply.
11
The
first servant was thinking seriously. He thought how he can gain more. And he
had a business. He was able to earn much money.
12
The
second servant also tied his best. He opened a store in the market. He could
gain much money also.
13
However
the third servant struggled with one talent. He was thinking seriously and he
went to somewhere.
14
He
went to somewhere that no one knows the place. And dig the ground and hid it.
15
And
he played every day.
16
After
a long time the master came. He called the three servants and asked them how
they manage the money.
17
The
first servant answered. ¡°¡° I had a business with five talents. See, I have
gained five more. Here you are.¡±¡±
18
The
master was so happy. He replied, ¡°¡°Well done, good and faithful servant! You
have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many
things. You may have the money. That is yours.¡±¡±
20
The
second servant came to his master and said, ¡°¡°You entrusted me with tow
talents. I work hard, I have gained two more.¡±¡±
21
¡°¡°Here
is your money.¡±¡± The master was so happy. ¡°¡° Well done, good and faithful
servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge
of many things. You may have the money. That is yours.¡±¡±
22
The
third servant came to his master. He explained feebly. ¡°¡°I was afraid to lose
your money. So I hid it in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.¡±
23
The
master was angry and shouted. ¡°¡°You wicked, lazy servant! You should have put
my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have
received it back with interest. Take the talent from him and give it to the
one who has the ten talents.¡±¡±
24
The
two servants who managed well the master¡¯s property had a party with their
master.
25
But
the third servant was out and cried. If he worked hard like the other
servants, he would not have this sad result.
26
God
gave us different talents. We have to manage well like the two servants so we
will bear and harvest good fruits in our lives. If we will be lazy like third
servant, God would call us a wicked and lazy servant. We have to be a good
and faithful servant like two servants in this parable.
