Jesus overcoming death

2

[NKJV] Matthew 28:19-20
¡°Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.¡± Amen

3

Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Jesus¡¯ death gave everyone following Him a great shock.

4

Nobody could come into Jesus¡¯ tomb for there were soldiers guarding the tomb, because while Jesus was alive, He had said, ¡®After 3 days, I will raise from the dead

5

Many of His following scattered and searched for their own ways. Of them, several including Peter gathered and agonized over what they should do from now on.

6

The dawn was breaking on the third day after Jesus had died. It dawned over the tomb of Jesus. At that time, the soldiers still had been securing Jesus¡¯ tomb.

7

Then, suddenly there was the sound of a great earthquake where Jesus¡¯ tomb was. It disconcerted the soldiers.

8

After that, the angel rolled the stone away from the tomb. The soldiers staring at that were scared to death. They just stood still without moving.

9

The three women who had taken spices that they had prepared for not rotting the body of Jesus, were too afraid to do anything or even say a word.

10

At that time, the angel said to the women, ¡°Don¡¯t be afraid, for I know that you¡¯re looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not in this tomb anymore. Come and see the place where He lay.

11

As the angel had said, the tomb of Jesus was empty. The women just stood still, speechless, for they were too scared to say anything.

12

The angel said to the women again. ¡°Now, go quickly and tell His disciples that Jesus has risen and He is going before you into Galilee. There you will see Him.¡±

13

After the women heard that, they lost no time in leaving the tomb. With fear and great joy, they ran to tell the disciples the good news!

14

Then, suddenly someone stood before them and said, ¡°Greetings!¡± It was Jesus. He had risen to life again!

15

They lay with their faces down, clasping His feet. Jesus said to the women again, ¡°Don¡¯t be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. There they will see me.

16

The women said to the disciples with joy, ¡°All of you, Jesus has risen. As Jesus promised when he was alive, He will wait before you at Galilee.¡±

17

.With Joy and alarm, the disciples went to Galilee to meet Jesus who had risen. There, they met Jesus who had been raised from the dead.

18

Jesus told all disciples, except Judas Iscariot, ¡°All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.¡±

19

Death is the punishment from Adam¡¯s sins. But from Jesus¡¯ triumph over death, those who believe in Jesus don¡¯t have to be afraid of death.

20

Is there anyone who could not believe that Jesus has risen yet? Jesus rose after three days and He showed His body that had been raised from the dead to His disciples and the women as you have heard from today¡¯s story. In several places, Jesus showed His Resurrected Body. From today, believe Jesus¡¯ Resurrection. Be His faithful people by not being overcome with the world but being triumph over sin and death.
