Be filled with the Spirit

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.. [NIV] Ephesians 5:18-21

Have you ever seen drunken persons?

They get drunk because they drink too much.

Drunken persons usually have special actions.

When people get drunk, they sing songs.

When they go for a drink, they beat bowls or tables with their chopsticks and sing off-key in a loud voice.

Also drunken persons begin to tell others their hidden discontents and complaints.

Worst of all, they have others not to go their home and complain the whole night.

And you may have seen that drunken persons pick a fight with others. After a few drinks, people are obsessed by delusion that they are the strongest in the world.

When others touch them just a little, they fight.

In the Bible, Drinking is too bad.

And drinking makes our faith worse.

So adults who believe in Jesus must not drink.

Bible says, like people drinks, there is a new wine for us to have to drink.

That is the very Holy Spirit.

When Jesus was raised up to heaven, Jesus promised us that He would send us another God, the Holy Spirit.

After 10 days Jesus raised up to the heaven, the Holy Spirit come to us on this earth at first. It was the day of Pentecost, a feast in Israel. At that day, the Holy Spirit came on people’s head that listened to Jesus’ words and devoted to pray.

Bible says ‘be filled with the Spirit.’ It means that the believers have to get ruled by the Spirit like that the drunkard get ruled by wine and act on a wine.

If people had received Spirit, they became so bravery and encourage that they went out for preaching on Jesus. It happened that many people believed in Jesus by their preaching. Like this, people who were filled with the Spirit show great diligence in preaching.

People who are full of the Spirit show great diligence in enjoying praising God and praising in service like the drunkards sing.

Our lips try to say beautiful words but it is too easy to say complaints and displeasure or to accuse others. But when we are filled with the Spirit, we can receive not to speak bad words by the Spirit. People filled with the Spirit speak beautiful words.

If we would be filled with the Spirit, the Spirit will help us not to sin and to stay far from sins though we have a thought to sin. We cannot overcome sins with only our power so we need the helps of the Spirit.

We listen and know God’s words many times but we often cannot obey to the end to disobey His words. But people filled with the Spirit receive helps to obey Him by the Spirit so they can obey God’s words.

Then, how can we be filled with the Spirit?

Friends who believe in Jesus have a great gift that the Spirit will be together with you. At that time we receive the Spirit in our mind, Spirit always stay in our mind.

Believe it, ask the Spirit going with me by praying before you act anything. Act as Spirit’s leads and we can live as believers filled with the Spirit. From today, all of you believing in Jesus are filled with the Spirit and be the great faithful friends doing things that God’s joyful wills.
