Dreaming Boy Joseph

He said to them, "Listen to this dream I had:We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it."Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. "Listen," he said, "I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me."

A person called Jacob was living at Canaan.

This Jacob had several wives.

Jacob's first wife Leah had many children. In the past having many children was the biggest pride of woman But the second wife, Rachel, whom Jacob loved more was always sad because she had no child.

Rachel lived always in misery and with no confidence because she had no child. Seeing Rachel like this Jacob didn't feel comfortable.

Jacob and Rachel also really wanted God to allow a child between them. Finally, God answered their prayers.

God allowed Rachel to have a son.

Rachel was so glad upon seeing her son.

So she decided to call this child Joseph.

Even though, he was young, Joseph grew different from others.

He was eager to listen to the words of God and to follow them obediently.

And when his brothers did things which God disliked he told his father and his brothers were scolded.

Joseph's brothers hated Joseph because Joseph would tattletale

on their bad actions.

Joseph's brothers began to grow bad feelings towards Joseph

because they were not able to do anything freely

And, also their father Jacob loved Joseph so much.

Jacob's love for Joseph was very great that Jacob even made a richly ornamented robe and gave to his son as a special present. Upon seeing Joseph wearing the ornamented robe Jacob was very glad.

"Well, well Joseph it looks very nice on you." Their father Jacob was very glad to see Joseph happy. But the other brothers felt very bad upon seeing this. Joseph's brothers hated Joseph because his father loved him more than any of the other sons.

Then, one night while Joseph was sleeping and he had a very curious dream.

In the field, there were sheaves of grain and Joseph's sheaves were in the middle and his brothers’ sheaves gathered around his. Then, his brothers’ sheaves bow down to Joseph's sheaves. It was a very curious dream.

When the sun rose Joseph immediately told his brothers about his dream the night before."Last night, I had a dream and your sheaves bowed down to my sheaves." His brothers felt bad when they heard that they bowed down to Joseph.

Upon hearing that, one of his brothers’ scolded him."So you mean that we are going to be your slaves, huh? Even you are not mature enough yet you try to reign on us believing that father will protect you." Joseph encountered a lot of shame. However, Joseph thought the dream was strange.

Not long after that incident Joseph had an even stranger dream. This time the star of Joseph was standing, but the stars of his father, mother, and the 11 stars of his brothers were all around bowing down to his star. It was such a strange dream

The next morning Joseph ran to his brothers and told them about the dream.

“Last night, I dreamed the stars of father and my brothers all bowed down to my star.”

Then not only his brothers but also his father scolded him.

He said, “Joseph, even I will bow down to you is so hard for me to believe

From this day forward, do not talk so carelessly

But actually his father had great faith when he heard his dream he thought God gave him the vision. So he remembered the dream of Joseph. Sometimes God gives the vision of our future through the dream while we are sleeping

Two dreams were given to Joseph.

God uses people like Joseph if they work hard.

Joseph lived sincerely in front of God by keeping his dreams deep inside his heart.

God made Joseph as the great prime minister of Egypt who saved the lives of God’s people.

What kind of a dream do you want to have?

The best dream is the dream which you wish to be the one whom God is pleased with You could be a person who can change the world if you live your life with that heart.

I hope you will be a person who can have a dream to make God happy.
