God Called
Moses

|
|
[ Exodus 3:10 ]
So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh
to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt
|
3
|
|
Moses, had been raised
as the son of the princess in Egypt.
When moses was 40 years
old, he ran away to Midian because he killed one Egyptian who was beating an
Israeli.
He stayed at the house of
Jethro the priest when he ran away from Egypt to Midian. Moses married
Zipporah the daughter of Jethro and made one family.
|
4
|
|
He stayed there and
served Jethro as a shepherd. He began to forget what he had done in Egypt. He
stayed as a shepherd for 40 years since he killed an Egyptian and ran to
Midian. Now Moses reached 80 years of age.
|

|
|
One day, Moses went to
a desert to feed the sheep.
And when he reached
where he was heading he saw something shocking.
A bush that was on fire
but it was not getting burnt.
He ran closer to the
bush.
|
6
|
|
¡°Why is it not
burning?¡±
He got curious and he
tried to get closer to the bush.
But then there came a
voice from the bush.
|
7
|
|
¡°Do not come any
closer.¡± God said, ¡°Take off your sandals, for the place where you are
standing is holy ground.¡±
He got frightened when
he heard the voice. The voice continued to speak.
¡°I am the God of your
father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.¡±
|
8
|
|
Moses covered his face
because he was shocked and frightened from what he heard.
God continued to speak.
¡°I have indeed seen the
misery of my people in Egypt, and I have heard the voice of my people
suffering under the slave officers of Egypt.¡±
|
9
|
|
I know how my people are
suffering. And now I have come to rescue my people from the misery of their
suffering. I will lead them to a good and wide land. So I`m going to send you
to Pharaoh, now go! Go and lead my people the Israelites from Egypt!
|
10
|
|
But Moses told God he
can`t do something like that.
Then moses asked for
something.
¡°If they ask me for the
clue that I met you, what should I say? I can`t take care of this task.¡±
|
11
|
|
So God told Moses to
throw his staff on the gaound.
He followed God`s
words.
And when he threw his
staff it changed into a snake.
He was amazed with this
miraculous sign.
|
12
|
|
¡°Reach out your hand
and take it by the tail.¡±
He followed God`s word
and grabbed the tail. And this time the snake changed back to a staff.
|
13
|
|
Next God ordered Moses
to put his hand inside of his cloth.¡±
He did exactly what he
was told.
And when he took out
his hand, it changed to be as white as leprosy.
He was overwhelmed with
amazement when he saw his hand.
|
14
|
|
¡°Put back your hand.¡±
And when he put his hand
back into his cloth it returned back to normal.
|
15
|
|
God spoke to Moses,
¡°If they do not believe
you or pay attention to the first miraculous sign, they will believe the
second.¡± God continued to speak.¡±But if they do not believe these two signs
or listen to you, take some water from the Nile
and pour it on the dry ground, the water you take from the river will turn to
blood on the ground.¡±
|
16
|
|
But even when he saw
those three signs he tried to disobey God`s order with a ridiculous excuse
that he is not a good speaker.
God`s anger reached out
to Moses.
"What about your
brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way
to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. You shall speak to
him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach
you what to do. But take this staff in your hand so you can perform
miraculous signs with it. "
|
17
|
|
And when he heard that he
submitted what he was holding on his heart and obeyed the words of God. Now
he is known as one of the greatest leaders of Israel who led their ancestors
out of Egypt because he followed the words of God even when he was 80 years
old.

With what we saw today,
we can learn that even if we are weak and talentless if God is willing to use
us there is no problem that can block his will. The most important thing for
those people willing to be used as God`s servant is obeying and following
God¡¯s words. When we have this kind of attitude and work as hard as we can
our LORD will fulfill what we need and use us as His servants. So we should
be faithful servants who follow God`s word with all of our might.
