The Morning of
Jesus¡¯ the Resurrection
2
[Matthew 28:10]
Then Jesus said to
them, "Do not be afraid.
Go and tell my brothers to
go to Galilee; there they will see me."
3
Last week was Passion week. And today is Easter.
I hope that you would truly believe Jesus' the
Resurrection.
4
Jesus stood in for my sin and died on the cross
at the hill called Golgotha by the Roman soldiers. Before His crucifixion,
Jesus predicted that He would die and rise again.
5
Jesus' dead body was buried in the new tomb of
Joseph of Arimathea.
Nicodemus who followed Jesus secretly, brought a
jar of very expensive perfume, which he applied on Jesus' whole body. Jesus'
mother and some women were sad about Jesus' death in front of the tomb.
6
Jesus' tomb was guarded very well by some Roman
soldiers.
Since the high priests who had killed Jesus were
afraid that a false rumor would start saying someone stole Jesus' body and
Jesus rose from the dead.
So they made the soldiers securely guard the
tomb so that no one could steal it.
7
After Jesus had died, a new dawn, has come!
Soldiers were guarding the tomb in a state of
tension because this day,
Jesus rose from the dead.
8
At dawn, suddenly there was a strong earthquake
around the tomb and a brilliant light shone from the sky. The soldiers who
were guarding could not move because they were so scared and trembled all
over.
9
An angel who came down from heaven pushed the
big stone that was put in front of Jesus' tomb, and sat on it. The angel
looked like light and his clothes looked as white as snow.
10
The women came back to apply perfume on Jesus'
body at dawn.
When they got there they saw an amazing sight.
They stood still at the place because they were
very afraid.
11
At that time, the angel said to the women,
"Do not be afraid, for I know that you are
looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as
he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
12
When they came to the tomb, the place where
Jesus had laid had been cleaned up and his body was gone. Was it really true
that Jesus was alive again?
13
The angel continued to speak, "Quickly go
to Jesus' disciples and tell them that Jesus has risen. And tell them that
Jesus went to Galilee first as he had promised and there they can see
Jesus."
14
The women who heard from the angel were afraid
of what might happen to them, but they were also glad that Jesus had risen
again.
They started to run hurriedly to inform the
disciples about it.
15
By the way, Jesus who had risen appeared to them
suddenly.
And he said to them, "Greetings!"
16
They were so glad to see Jesus, so they clasped
his feet and bowed to him. Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid.
Tell them to go to the Galilee. They will see me
there."
17
The disciples who had heard from the women
arrived at the mountain in Galilee.
They worshiped Jesus who had risen.
They sincerely believed that Jesus had risen.
18
Jesus died on the cross for our sins and as He
had promised He rose again after three days. Jesus showed himself to his
disciples and many other people proving to them his Resurrection. Let us believe
in the resurrection of Jesus with all of our hearts. And, I hope that you
will have the hope of heaven as He has promised as well!!
