God made the World
2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth.
[Genesis 1:1]
3
In the beginning, there was nothing.
And darkness was over the surface of the deep.
Only God was in the world.
4
God decided to beautifully make the world.
God created the world only through his words.
5
God said, ¡°Let there be
light." As soon as God said it, there was light.
6
God called the light "day", and called
the darkness "night".
God saw that the light was good. This was the
first day that God created.
7
On the second day, God said, "Let there be
an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."
8
As soon as God said, it was made into a very big
round expanse.
And the water was separated into the up expanse
and the down expanse with the expanse as the center.
9
God called the expanse "sky". And God
saw that the sky was good. This was the second day that God created.
10
And on the third day, God said, "Let the
water under the sky be gathered to one place.¡°
11
Let dry ground appear. And it was so. God called
the dry ground "land" and the gathered waters he called
"seas."
12
Then he commanded again.
"Let the land produce vegetation:
seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it,
according to their various kinds." And it was so. Again, God saw that it
was good.
13
On the fourth day, God made two great lights.
The greater light to govern the day and the
lesser light to govern the night. And he made the stars.
14
God set them in the expanse of sky. And God saw
that it was good.
15
On the fifth day, God said, "Let the water
be filled with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the
expanse of the sky." And it was so.
16
God said to them again, "Be fruitful and
increase in number and fill the water in the seas,
and let the birds increase on the earth."
And God saw that it was good.
17
On the sixth day, "Let the land produce
living creatures according to their kinds. Livestock, creatures that move
along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it
was so.
18
God said, "Let us make man in our image, in
our likeness.
Let them rule over the fish of the sea and the
birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the
creatures that move along the ground."
19
God created the man in his own Image, in the
image of God he created male and female.
Male was made by the dust and female was made by
one of the male's ribs.
The male was called Adam and the female was
called Eve.
20
God said to them, "Be fruitful and increase
in number.
Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish
of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves
on the ground.
21
God created the whole world in six days.
God created the world where we live for us.
We have to beautifully keep the world that God
created
and we have the responsibility to use it for
God's glory.
