The Treasure in the Field

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.

When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went

and sold all he had and bought that field.” [Matthew 13 : 44]

There was once a very good farmer.

He was so poor that he worked for someone who is an owner of the field, he gets a labor fee to live.

One day, he was working diligently for his master in the field.

While he working there, he heard the sound in the ground.

He thought maybe there was a big stone so he dug in the ground.

But instead there was an old treasure box.

He was so surprised.

He opened the treasure box; it was full of very rare treasures.

This box was hidden in the ground long ago so could not guess the owner of the treasure box.

Now he was thinking hard about how he could own this treasure.

At last he got an uncommon idea so he returned the treasure box deep in the ground. Not one other person knew about this treasure.

He came back home in a hurry.

He sold everything he owned to make money.

He sold everything to own that precious treasure.

He even sold his house!

Because he wanted to buy that field he sold everything he had.

Finally he made enough money to buy that field.

The next day morning he went to his master.

“Master please sell to me the field where I am working.

I’ll pay you enough money.” Since the master didn’t know the treasure in the field, he sold the field to him.

He knew the secret of the field and his joy overflowed.

He sold everything to get that treasure but he never hesitated or regretted it.

Because he knew the secret of treasure.

Now he ran to the field.

And he dug up the hidden treasure.

He became a great rich man through this treasure.

This is the story Jesus told about heaven.

Jesus said this treasure is heaven.

He said that the heaven is a most precious treasure.

For this heaven we would not spare even all things we have.

But heaven will give it to us it’s more precious than this treasure as a present. There is only one secret to get this heaven.

That is you should confess with your mouth “I believe that Jesus died for me”  Then it will be given to you as a present.

Now children! If you already have this present of heaven you should live with grateful heart to Jesus every day. And until now if you don’t have this heaven, please confess with your mouth Jesus died on the cross for your sin so you could get this heaven and then you will be a blessed one.
