Build
Your House on ¡®THE ROCK¡¯
2
Therefore everyone who
hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who
built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the
winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had
its foundation on the rock.
(MATTHEW 7:24-25)

There were two seasons in
Israel where Jesus lived.
The first one was the
rainy season. In the rainy season it rained a lot.
The second one was the
dry season. In that time it did not rain at all.
4
Two men decided to build
a house.
They each thought how to
make a beautiful house.
5
The first one decided to
make it on the flat ground.
That ground looked hard
to the eye.
6
"Yes, here is a good
place to build."
He determined to build
the house there and brought many building materials.
7
He worked hard on his
house.
That time was the dry
season and it was sunny, too.
The house seemed to be
made solid.
8
Another one started to
build a house. Yet he built it at another place.
He looked for a place
here and there.
Finally he stood on a big
rock.
9
He decided to make the
foundation of his house on the rock so he began to make it flat. It was hard
and difficult.
However, he had made up
his mind, so he worked hard with pleasure.
10
After a long time, the
rock had been flatted.
It was difficult for him
to build a house on the rock.
Yet, he did not give up
and kept going.
11
He continued to work hard
on his house on the rock even though people said sarcastic remarks to him.
Eventually, he finished his house.
It was not fancy but he
was satisfied with the look of the house.
12
After the two men
finished building their houses and some days had passed, the rainy season
started. It rained continuously and the wind blew very hard, too. The
rainwater gathered and kept falling back down again.
13
The flood beat against
the house that the first one had made. The ground looked solid but there was
sand underneath the ground. It was the same as if it had only been built on
the sand.
14
However, the other house
that the second one had made on the rock stood firmly. Even with the strong
flood and wind it could not tear down the house on the rock.
15
Jesus talked about this
story. After that Jesus said to the people, "Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them
into practice is like a wise man who builds his house on the rock. The people
are never disappointed even though they face difficult situations like the
house on the rock."
16
"But everyone who hears these words of mine
and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who builds his
house on sand."
17
It is the same way on how
we build our house of our lives.
We should follow as God's
word says like building our house on THE ROCK, which is Christ, and then we
will never fall down even if we may face many troubled times. If we live at
our own will, we will fall down even when a very small matter comes up.
18
From now on, let's try to
put God's words into practice like the wise man.
I hope that you are able
to build up your house of faith on THE ROCK and overcome all troubles until
Jesus comes back again!
