The
Parable of the Wheat with the Weeds
2
[Matthew
13:43]
Then
the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
He
who has ears, let him hear.
3
There once was a very
good owner.
The owner had a very big
field, too.
4
The owner said to his own
servants.
"Choose the good
seeds and sow them in the field today."
So they prepared only the
good seeds.
5
Then they sowed hard all
day long.
6
"Lord, we have sown
the good seeds as you have told us!"
The owner looked at the
field and he was satisfied that the good seeds had been sown well in the
field.
Then he thought that he
will earn good grain so he was very glad.
7
However, there was a
person who hated the owner.
¡°I don't want him
to succeed. So I have to disturb and spoil it."
The man began to make-up
an evil plan as he was looking at the sown field.
8
That night he went to the
field with something in a basket.
And then he started to
scatter what he had brought.
Yet, nobody noticed him
doing it.
9
The servants did their
best for the seeds to grow well.
The seeds did indeed grow
well.
10
When the grain had become
ripe, a servant looked over the field.
He was surprised, to find
weeds among the grain.
The good seeds and weeds
were growing together.
11
The servant rushed to his
owner and said, "Lord. you are in big trouble!
We sowed only good seeds,
however, there are bad weeds in the field, too."
12
"Maybe, my enemy
came and did harm to my field."
The owner easily knew
that his enemy had done it.
13
The servants told the
owner, "Lord, let us get rid of all the weeds!"
14
The master told the
servants, "No, just leave them please.
While you are pulling the
weeds, you may up-root some of the wheat with them."
15
"Then what should we
do about all of these weeds?" The owner replied, "Let both grow
together until the harvest. At the right time, I will tell the harvesters:
First, collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather
the wheat and bring it into my barn."
16
When the harvest time had
arrived, the weeds that the enemy had sown were tied into bundles to be
burned.
And the wheat was brought
into the master's barn.
17
Jesus told this story to
them to explain about the kingdom of God.
People who can go to
heaven have to be like the wheat.
He will separate the
wheat from the weeds when Jesus returns back again. And He will allow only
the people like the wheat to go to heaven.
18
We will live with people
like weeds who do not believe in Jesus until Jesus returns back again. Therefore,
we should live sincerely in every situation. If you have lived like the
weeds, you should repent quickly!
So that you can be
renewed before it's too late.
