The Visit of the Magi

2

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. [Matthew 2:11]

Merry Christmas!!
Today is Christmas where we commemorate the coming of Jesus as a little baby on earth.

4

However, when we look outside on the streets, many people decorate as if it is the day that Santa Claus came. But we, as believers in Jesus, should celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus coming to earth to save us.

5

Because of Adam and Eve's sin, we could not go to the kingdom of heaven.
All people should go to hell for people's sins hurt God's heart.
So God sent Jesus in the flesh to the earth to save us.

6

Jesus came to the earth through the virgin Mary. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus came to Bethlehem in Israel.
I would like to introduce some special people who came to Jesus to worship Him.

7

It was a starry night. There were the Magi studying the stars.

8

That night, they had a very amazing experience.

They found a very big star they had never seen before.

9

"It means the birth of a great King."
"It will be a miracle of our lives to see the King.¡±
¡°Let's go to the King and worship Him."

10

The Magi wanted to meet the King so they traveled by following the star.
When they began their journey, the star led their way.

11

Their journey took a very long time.
It took months to get there because the roads were rough and transportation was poor. They just let the star guide while crossing over mountains and seas.

12

At last, the star that had led the Magi stopped at a point.
It was Bethlehem a small town in Israel.
The star led the Magi exactly to the place where Jesus was born.

13

Jesus who came to save us on the earth was there.
The Magi put the presents that they had prepared before Jesus the King of the whole universe and worshipped Him.

14

The first Magi presented Him with gold.
Because Jesus was a bright and precious man, he presented Him with the most bright and precious gold.

15

The second Magi presented Him with incense.
This incense is used in the temple.
He did so with a worshiping heart.

16

The third Magi presented Him with myrrh.
This myrrh is used to prevent the human body from decaying in burial.
This Magi believed that Jesus is the Everlasting King.

17

The Magi came to worship Jesus from far away and presented Jesus with precious gifts.
They spent the most beautiful Christmas ever!

18

I hope that you all will spend this Christmas with the same hearts as the Magi.
We should worship Jesus who came to save us on the earth and we should offer our gifts honestly like the Magi who presented to Jesus.
