Jesus, The Greatest Present of All

2

(Ephesians 2:8)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--

3

It will be Christmas after a few days.
Say to your friends, "Merry Christmas!!"

4

On Christmas Day, you will expect good Christmas presents.
Some will want nice clothes and some will want good toys.

5

And some of you may think that Santa Clause will come and give you gifts. At Christmas time, you may even hang up stockings on your fireplace.

6

However, do you know that you and I have already gotten the greatest present ever? We have received the most precious present that could never be compared to beautiful clothes or wonderful toys.

7

This present had been prepared in advance for a very long time. Its value is priceless.
God, the king of the universe directly granted this present.

8

Adam and Eve, the first humans on earth broke the promise with God and committed the first sin. So, we lost the chance to be with God eternally in heaven because of that sin and could not meet with God any longer.

9

Seeing us, God's heart was broken.
Therefore, God planned to recover the relationship between Himself and humankind.

10

However, there was only one way to solve this problem. God should send Jesus, the only Son of God on the earth. Jesus is God but He had to come down as a human like us.

11

God sent Jesus through the virgin Mary.
God gave us the greatest present of all, Himself in the flesh.

12

On Christmas Day, Jesus became the present and came to us.
Because God loves and has great compassion for us, He sent Jesus to save us.

13

Jesus, the king of the universe came to the lowest place as a gift for us.
It means that God does not differentiate people's position; he gave us the gift of salvation.

14

After a few days, we will celebrate Christmas. On Christmas Day, people give Christmas cards to each other. It will also be a good method of evangelism to friends who want to tell about Jesus while delivering Christmas cards.

15

It is a good custom to exchange gifts with each other. It is like following the custom of gift giving as with the Magi in bringing gold, incense, and myrrh to celebrate Jesus' birth.

16

Some of you give good gifts to friends on Valentine's Day or other special days. However, God may be more pleased when you give to your friends a small heartfelt gift to tell them about Jesus' birth on Christmas Day.

17

On this Christmas Day, you should think of Jesus, the Son of God who has saved us. You should spend your time well in doing something that would make Jesus pleased.
