Paul Preaches in Rome under House Arrest

2

(Acts 28:31)

"Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ."

3

After meeting Jesus, Paul who preached only the gospel had one wish.

He wanted to go to Rome and talk about Jesus.

4

Finally, his wish was fulfilled. He could go to Rome.

However, he was not free because he was under house arrest yet he was so glad.

5

Even though Paul was a prisoner, God gave him a special benefit.
Paul was allowed to live in a rented house, not in a jail, with only a soldier to guard after him. God knew Paul's heart and listened to his prayer.

6

Three days after Paul's arrival, he gathered the leaders of the Jews in Rome.

He explained to them how he came to be a prisoner.

God softened their hearts toward Paul.

7

They said to Paul.
"We don't know why you came here but we have heard what has been said about Jesus.
We also have heard that many people are opposed to believing in Jesus."

8

After hearing this, Paul thought he had a chance so he spoke:
¡°Let's meet again. I will answer all your questions."
So they determined when to meet on another day.

9

On that day, many Jews came to meet Paul at his house.
Paul said to them all about Jesus and the kingdom of God from morning to evening.

10

The people who heard from Paul about the gospel came up with two reactions.
Some decided to believe in Jesus. However, the others did not.

11

But Paul did not give up. After that many people came to Paul's house and listened to the gospel. Whenever Paul had a chance to talk about the gospel to them, he would preach with all his heart.

12

For two years, many people believed in Jesus by Paul.
Even though he came to Rome as a prisoner, he gave thanks to God.
That's why he could preach the gospel.

13

Paul did many more important things there besides preaching the gospel.
Paul preached the gospel to many churches and people by his letters that he wrote. The letters that were written in Rome became several books in the New Testament.

14

Paul wrote the letter to Philemon to forgive Onesimus.

Paul wrote all the letters in Rome as a prisoner, Colossians was sent to the Colosse church, Ephesians was sent to the Ephesus church, and Philippians was sent to the Philippi church.

15

Even though Paul came to Rome as a prisoner, he did not give up preaching the gospel there. He preached the gospel not only to the people in Rome, but also to the people who wanted to hear the gospel. Paul did his best for the plan that God would raise him up as an apostle.

16

Paul thanked Jesus who died on the cross for saving him and giving him eternal life.So he was not lazy to preach the gospel under any circumstance.

17

We also have the same grace like Paul. Jesus died on the cross to save us.

If we say we believe in Jesus, we will be children of God and receive eternal life.

Paul was under more difficult situations than us however he did his best.

I hope that you too will preach the gospel to your friends the best way that you can!
