Jesus Shows
His Love by the Pain on the Cross
2
(Luke
23:42-43)
Then
he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Jesus
answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in
paradise."
3
Jesus was caught
without any sins by Judas Iscariot's betrayal while he was praying at a place
called Gethsemane.
4
The high priest and
the Jews who usually wanted to kill Jesus put a crime upon him by their
lying. The next morning, they went to Pilate, the governor of Rome.
5
The high priest and
the Jews brought many people to execute in front of the court.
The people shouted loudly. "Crucify him! Crucify him!"
6
Pilate, the governor
couldn't find Jesus' fault but he still condemned him to death because of the
people's force of shouting,"Crucify him!"
7
The soldiers brought
Jesus and mocked him.
They took off his clothes and put a purple robe on him. They twisted together
a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand
and knelt in front of him and said, "Hail, king of the Jews!"
8
After that, they led
Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull)
carrying the heavy cross. The people mocked him, insulted him, and spit on
him.
9
Jesus' both hands and
feet were nailed to the cross at Golgotha.
And the soldiers lifted the cross high.
Jesus suffered all the pain and died of suffocation.
10
Jesus bore his
suffering to forgive our sins. When Jesus was crucified on the cross, the
darkness came over the whole land from noon to three p.m.
11
The people who made
Jesus as a sinner and the Roman soldiers who crucified Jesus were staring.
They considered Jesus to be an enemy.
12
Jesus looked down on
them with pity and prayed these words,
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
Jesus forgave the people who slandered and killed him.
13
Jesus loved his
enemies even though they gave to him suffering and pain.
Jesus forgave and prayed for them.
He fulfilled the word which says to love your enemies.
14
Jesus fulfilled
another love. There were two criminals who had robbed and became prisoners
unto death. One of them regretted his fault and asked Jesus to forgive him so
that he could go to heaven.
15
Jesus knew that he
truly repented from all of his faults. So Jesus
answered to him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in
paradise."
He was forgiven by Jesus and could go to heaven
now.
16
However,
even bad sinners like the criminal may be, if anyone truly repents of their
sins, they too can go to heaven. Anyone can receive the gift of heaven if
they believe that Jesus died on the cross to forgive them.
17
We should be like
Jesus who led the criminal to salvation even though he was suffering from the
pain on the cross. We have to tell Jesus' great love to our friends. This is
the way to thank Jesus for all that He has done for us.
