People
Standing Before the Judge
2
(Matthew
25:31-33)
"When
the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit
on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him,
and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the
sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his
left.
3
Jesus,
our Saviour will come again on the earth. Because Jesus promised to come
again to the disciples that were watching Him rise into heaven, so we know
that He will come surely.
4
But
nobody knows when Jesus will come again to this world. Only God knows that.
However,
some people have said that they know the day when Jesus will come. They are
liars or heretics.
5
However,
the Bible clearly says how Jesus will come again to the earth.
When
Jesus comes again, all the angels will praise very loudly
and
we will see Jesus coming on the clouds of heaven.
6
Jesus
will come and sit on his throne in heavenly glory. When Jesus comes, all
people of the whole world will gather toward Jesus. Nobody will be able to be
hidden.
7
All
the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one
from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the
sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
8
Then
Jesus will say to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed by my
Father. Take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the
creation of the world."
9
Then
Jesus will go on to explain why they will be given such a great prize,
"For
I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me
something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes
and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and
you came to visit me."
10
Then
the righteous will answer him, ¡°Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed
you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a
stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we
see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?¡±
11
Jesus
will say to them, "I
tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers
of mine, you did for me."
12
Then
Jesus will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are
cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I
was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me
nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed
clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not
look after me."
13
They
will also answer, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a
stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?"
14
Jesus
will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of
the least of these, you did not do for me."
15
"Then
they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal
life."
16
We
wish to meet Jesus. However, Jesus has already come near to us through the
Bible, God's Word. To help friends around us is to help Jesus. To love
friends who need our help is to love Jesus.
17
We
can go to heaven with faith. Jesus gave us a great blessing to help friends
who get in trouble around us. I hope that you will be praised when you stand
before Jesus on the last day.
