Let's Resemble the Christians from the First Churches

2

All the believers were together and had everything in common.

Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

[Acts 2:44-45]

3

Jesus sent the promised Holy Spirit to this world.

Then people, who received the Holy Spirit, confidently shared about Jesus.

4

Peter and the Apostles were fully filled with the Holy Spirit.
When Peter and the Apostles shared God's Word, many people believed in Jesus. In a day, thousands of people decided to believe in Jesus.

5

The people who decided to believe in Jesus started to live a different life.

They were eager to listen to God's Word. When they had time, they gathered together and listened very carefully to His Word.

6

Through the Apostles, they heard the words that Jesus had said.

They learned how they should serve God.

They also heard that they should love their neighbors as themselves.

7

The Christians who had listened to the sermons always gathered together when they had time and they shared whether they had lived according to the teachings. When they heard the stories of the people who had lived well according to the teachings, they congratulated each other and turned over the glory unto God.

8

And they comforted those who were not able to live according to the teachings because of their weak faith. Those with weaker faith got their power through the comfort of other Christians. They really served each other with love.

9

And when the Christians who believed Jesus gathered together, they always had Communion. They had the heart of thanking the great grace of Jesus who died for them on the cross and gave them salvation. With that heart, they shared the bread when they gathered together and they offered thanksgiving prayers for the grace of salvation which Jesus had given to them.

10

An amazing change occurred in the lives of the Christians who believed in Jesus. They brought things they had to give to the people in need.
They lived with the mind of considering others like their own family.

11

The rich people who had lots of property sold half of all their belongings to give to the church and to the poor and helpless.

12

Not only in the church but even in their daily lives, they lived according to the Scriptures. They would invite others to their homes to enjoy meals together.
They shared the table together and they praised God in that place.

13

The people who didn¡¯t believe in Jesus were surprised to see the Christians because they had great love towards each other and they helped the poor and needy. So they began to feel envious and they gave great compliments for their good deeds.

14

By seeing how well the Christians lived together, more people started to believe in Jesus. Every day, more and more people believed in Jesus, got baptized and became Christians. They felt God's amazing grace being added daily.

15

Today, we who hear the Word of God should also live like the people in the Bible. First of all, we should listen very carefully and truly learn and study God's Word. If you believe Jesus but don¡¯t know His Word, then you won¡¯t know how you should live and behave.

16

Second, you should work at loving your friends better.

If you have something which you can share with others, you should share it.

And if there is a friend with some difficulties, you should consider that friend like your own family and help them.

17

We believe in Jesus and when we listen to God's Word and give love to other friends, those friends' hearts will open and then they will follow you to church and meet Jesus. So we, who believe in Jesus, should live according to God's Word in order for us to be complimented by not only Christians but also by people who don't believe in Jesus yet.
