The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold.
Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand.
When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live."
But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

Apostle Paul was Alive after being Bitten by a Poisonous Snake

2

The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. (Acts 28:2-5)

3

Apostle Paul was going to Rome as a prisoner.

But the ship which Apostle Paul rode met a very big storm.

4

They suffered for a long time by the typhoon but they finally reached one island.

The name of the island was Malta.

5

The people in that island were very kind.
They cared and served the people very kindly.

They made a fire to warm the people who got off from the ship.

6

To help make the fire, Apostle Paul picked up some wood near him and he threw it into the fire. But at that moment, a snake with poison was hiding in the woods. Then that snake bit Apostle Paul's hand.

7

Apostle Paul threw the snake into the fire. The people saw that the snake had bitten the hand of the Apostle Paul. So the people said, "he must be a killer."

¡°He may have survived from the ocean but God surely did not forgive him.¡±

8

The people thought like this; if a snake bites someone, it shows that God is punishing that person because that person is a killer. Since a snake bit Apostle Paul's hand, the people were curious and they wanted to see what would happen to the Apostle Paul.

9

If a person is bitten by a snake, the whole body would swell up or that person would die because of the poison. But nothing happened to Apostle Paul. God had protected him.

10

The people in that island were surprised.

Then they thought that he was not an ordinary man.

They said, "he is not a human. He is a god sent from heaven."

The people began to think that the Apostle Paul was a god.

11

Publius also heard about the Apostle Paul.
Publius was the highest leader of that island.

Publius invited Apostle Paul and the others to his house.

Then for 3 days, Publius served them very kindly.

By Apostle Paul other people also stayed comfortably.

12

One man in Publius¡¯s house had a very serious sickness.

That person was the father of Publius.

Publius's father had a fever and dysentery so he was in danger of dying.

13

Apostle Paul prayed for Publius¡¯s father to be healed.
Apostle Paul laid his hand on the body of  Publius¡¯s father and he prayed sincerely for healing.  After Apostle Paul¡¯s prayer, Publius's father became very healthy.

14

The people heard that Apostle Paul had healed Publius¡¯s father so all the sick people in that island came to him.

15

Apostle Paul put his hand on the sick people and he prayed for them. God gave power to Apostle Paul, so that when he prayed, all the sicknesses were healed. Many people experienced the amazing miracle of being healed.

16

If God is with a person, wherever that person goes, God will protect and help them. Apostle Paul got bitten by a snake but God blocked the poison from spreading in his body. Instead, through that happening, Apostle Paul was raised higher by the people of that island and many people got healed by him.

17

Believers of Jesus should not be disappointed by hardships because God will give a better outcome through that hardship. We should give our best to become people of faith who can win over any hard and difficult thing by believing in God¡¯s help.
