We meet Jesus on Christmas

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 3

Merry Christmas! Today is Christmas.

It is the day that Jesus came as a human like us to this world to forgive our sins and to save us.

4

How happy we would be if Jesus came to meet us tonight?

If Jesus was coming to meet with us tonight then we would be preparing delicious food and gifts for Him.

5

Today, I will tell you one tip on how to meet Jesus.

Listen carefully and I hope you can meet Jesus.

6

Long ago, there was one old man.

This old man's job was repairing shoes.

7

It was the day before Christmas.

The weather was very cold and it was raining.

The old man was reading the Bible in his small room.

8

"She gave birth to the first born son and she wrapped him in cloths and lied him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."(Luke 2:7)

This old man was reading about the birth of Jesus written in the Book of Luke. This old man was so sad that there was no room in the inn that Jesus was born in the horse manger.

9

"There is a room in our house. How good would it be if Jesus had come here?

The room is not that big but if Jesus had come to our house..."

The old man started to imagine.

He imagined what it would have been like if Jesus had come to his house.

10

"If Jesus comes to my house what will I give him as a gift? The Magi gave gold, incense and myrrh but I don't have those things. What can I offer?"

So that night, he made small shoes to give to baby Jesus.

11

At that moment, someone called him.

"Martang."

As he heard his name being called, he looked around but no one was there.

12

But someone's voice continued to speak.

"Martang, you really want to meet me so look at the street from this morning until evening. Then you will see me passing by."

13

Then at that moment, Martang realized.

"Oh, it is Him. Jesus is telling me that he will pass by here tomorrow."

Martang was so happy that he could meet Jesus.

14

From the early morning of Christmas, Martang prepared to meet Jesus.

He lit up the lamp and he put fire on the brazier to make the room warm then he cleaned his room and waited for Jesus.

15

He watched the streets and waited for Jesus to come.

At that moment, a lady cleaner appeared on the street and started to clean the streets. Martang felt pity for her that she was working even on Christmas.

So Martang gave her a cup of warm coffee.

16

Then, Martang waited for Jesus again. Then, a young woman with a baby in her arms passed by the street. That baby was not wearing shoes. So Martang brought the baby shoes he had made for Jesus and checked if they were the baby's size. They fit the baby's feet so Martang gave the shoes to the baby.

17

Martang had the kind heart of wanting to meet Jesus.

So Martang gave small presents to the people passing by the streets as he continued to wait for Jesus.

18

It became evening but Jesus still had not appeared.

Martang was greatly disappointed.

"I had really hoped that the sound I heard yesterday was Jesus but I think I heard it wrong."

19

Suddenly, the room got very bright.

Then the room was filled with people.

They were the people that Martang had treated kindly that day.

20

Then the baby on the mother's arm pointed one part of the Bible that Martang was reading.

It was written like this.

21

[Mt] 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

[Mt] 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

[Mt] 25:36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

[Mt] 25:37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

[Mt] 25:38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

[Mt] 25:39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

[Mt] 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

22

Then Martang realized that Jesus had indeed visited him. Do you want to meet Jesus? If there are people needing your help, even with small things you have, please help them because, they are Jesus to you.

Today, I hope you can meet Jesus before this year's Christmas is over.
