The Secret of Heaven Through the parable of the Weeds

2

(Matthew 13:43 - NIV)

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

He who has ears, let him hear.

3

When Jesus was in this world, he talked about heaven many times.
Jesus spoke in parables so that people could understand.
Even today, Jesus tells us about heaven.

4

There was a land owner who had a big field.
He sowed good seeds in his field.
The owner thought that he could harvest very good grain from his field.

5

But in the middle of the night, when everyone was asleep, one person came to the field and secretly sowed bad seeds.
However, no one knew about it.

6

The servants took good care of the field so that the seeds would bear good grain.
As time passed by, the sown seeds grew.

7

But an unexpected thing happened while the grain grew.
They had sowed only good seeds but weeds came between the grain.
The farmers were surprised and ran to the owner.

8

The servants told the owner.
"Lord, didn't we sow only good seeds? But weeds have grown between the good grain.
We don't know where they came from."

9

Upon hearing that, the owner said,
"Our enemy must have secretly come and sowed bad seeds."
The owner knew that the enemy sowed those bad seeds.

10

The servants said to the owner.
"Then, shall we go and pull up all those weeds?"
The servants thought they should pull up all the weeds that grew between the grain.

11

"For now, leave it as it is.
I am worried that you might pull up the good grain by mistake when you pull up all of those weeds.
Just let them grow until harvest."

12

Finally, the time for harvest came.
The servants cut off the weeds first and gathered them.
Then, they burned all of it.

13

The servants also harvested the good grain.
Then, they stored the good grain inside the barns.
After telling this parable, Jesus explained the meaning of the parable to the disciples.

14

Jesus explained that the field is this world, the one sowing good seeds is Jesus, the enemy who sowed weeds at night is the devil, good seeds are all the children of God who will enter heaven and the weeds are all the evil people who are following the devil.

15

The harvest is the end of this world and the servants that are harvesting are the angels.
When this end comes, just like how the weeds were pulled up and thrown into the fire, all the people who did not believe Jesus and did evil things will be thrown into the fire of hell.

16

But the people who believed Jesus and became the children of God will be like the good grain stored in the barns that shine like the sun in the Kingdom of God.
Today, this parable told by Jesus was about the things that will happen when Jesus comes to this world again.

17

Sometimes, we get disappointed when we see evil people doing well in this world. But just like today's story, the people doing bad things will be judged at the second coming of Jesus and be thrown into hell. Therefore, we should become faithful people who will thank and always live happily by remembering the truth that we will live forever with Jesus in heaven on the day Jesus comes again.
