Jesus Rode on a Colt

2

(Mark 11:9)

Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna!"

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

3

Jesus came to this world to save us and lived 33 years on this world.
Jesus started preaching about heaven at the age of 30.

4

Jesus, together with his disciples, went to Jerusalem to keep his last passover.
They went to the village of Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives.

5

Jesus called two of his disciples and asked them to do something for him.
"Go to the village ahead of you and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here."

6

"If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it,' and he will send it back here shortly." The two disciples followed the words of Jesus and went to the village ahead of them.

7

In that place, there really was a tied colt.
The disciples untied the colt to bring it.

8

At that moment, someone beside them, asked. "Why are you untying the colt?"
The disciples answered what they were told to say.
"The Lord needs it."

9

Upon hearing their answer, he let them take the colt.
It was fulfilled just as Jesus had said.
The disciples brought the colt to Jesus amidst their amazement.

10

The disciples put some clothes on top of the colt for Jesus to sit comfortably.
Then Jesus got onto the colt and rode into Jerusalem.

11

When Jesus arrived, many people gathered to see him.
They took off their clothes and laid them down in front of the colt.
Those clothes, just like a carpet, made the way to where Jesus was going.

12

Some people cut branches of trees to put on the road and held them in their hands to greet Jesus. That scenery looked just like a welcoming of a great King who had won from a battle.

13

Also, the people started shouting out loud, "Jesus, save us."
"Jesus, save us." They were praising Jesus with those words.

14

It was already said in the Old Testament that Jesus would enter Jerusalem like this. In the book of Zechariah 9:9, written by Zechariah, a prophet in the time of the Old Testament, it is written, "Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey."

15

Entering Jerusalem while riding a colt is one of the prophecies fulfilled showing that Jesus truly is the Savior promised by God. Jesus, whom we believe, is the one and only Savior who came to this world to save us.

16

Jesus did not say, "I am the Messiah who came to save you. So be good to me." Jesus was not boastful. Jesus came to save us but he humbly rode on a donkey to enter Jerusalem.

17

We have the great blessing of entering heaven by believing Jesus. From now on, we should also gather and stay close to Jesus. As well as stay humble like Jesus and tell our friends about Jesus so that they too may also go to heaven. And work hard to become people who can be complimented by Jesus.
