He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."
He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."

The Secret of Heaven Explained

Through the Parable of the Mustard Seed and Yeast

2

(Matthew 13:31~33)

He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches." He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."

Wherever Jesus went, there were many followers.
They followed Jesus because they wanted to hear his precious gospel.

4

When Jesus talked about the secret of heaven, Jesus often used parables.
Today Jesus also used two parables to talk about the secret of heaven.

5

Jesus started the first parable.
There was one person who had a field.

6

One day he brought one seed and planted it in his field.
The seed he brought was a mustard seed which is the smallest seed.
How big can a tiny mustard seed grow?

7

Time passed and the mustard seed started to sprung a bud.
A small stem grew out of the big stem and leaves springled from the small stem.
The bud did not rest but it grew and grew.

8

Surprisingly that mustard seed grew up to be a big tree.
Many birds flew to that mustard tree, and built nests and lived there.

9

Through this parable, Jesus taught us this special message. The mustard seed seemed so small but it grew to be a big tree. Just like that, God's kingdom also seems so small but in the end, God will make it into the greatest kingdom.

10

When Jesus was done with the parable of the mustard seed, he told another parable about heaven.

11

A woman tried to bake bread. The woman prepared two big bowls for flour and dough, then she started to make dough with the flour.

12

While mixing the dough, she put in some yeast. Compared to the flour, only a tiny bit of yeast was used. After she finished mixing the dough, she put the bowl by the window.

13

The next day morning, the dough she had made had become a lot bigger.
In fact it had gotten several times bigger.

14

The dough became bigger because the woman put in yeast. Although only a little amount of yeast was used, the dough became a lot bigger because the yeast has a special feature of making bread rise.

15

The parable of the yeast also tells us how wonderful the completion of heaven is. Just like the dough getting bigger with the small amount of yeast, the kingdom of God also gets bigger.

16

We, the children of God, might seem to be nothing special like the mustard seed and the yeast. However, we know the secret of God's kingdom, so we don`t need to worry or get disappointed.

17

Our Almighty God will use each one of us tiny people for his great plan. So don't get disappointed and don't give up on yourself right now. Instead, we should follow God`s words and expect God to use us like the mustard seed and the yeast.
