A
Miracle Happened by the Offering of a Little Child
2
(John 6:9-11)
"Here is a boy with five small barley
loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?"
Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass
in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. Jesus then
took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as
much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

One
day Jesus Christ and his disciples went to another place by a boat.
Many
people from different places followed Jesus.
4
There
were many sick people among those who followed Jesus. The sick people had
heard that Jesus Christ could cure any sickness. They followed Jesus with
faith that Jesus could cure their ailments too.
5
As
time passed by, more and more people came to meet Jesus.
Without
resting, Jesus preached the gospel and cured many people.
6
One
evening Jesus said to his disciple, Philip.
"Where
can I find enough bread to feed all these people?"
7
Philip
answered, "Two hundred denarius could not buy enough bread for each one
to have a bite!" Two hundred denarius was a huge amount of money which
is equal to 6 months salary.
8
The
number of adult men gathered there were about 5,000 and if the adult women and
children were counted, it would have been more than 25,000 people. So
Philip's answer was not wrong.

Just
then, Andrew brought a boy and said to Jesus, " Jesus, all we have are 5
small loaves of bread and 2 small fish from this boy`s lunchbox. However, we
cannot feed all these people with only this."
10
Hearing
that, Jesus said, "Tell the people to sit down." The disciples told
the people to sit down. All of the people obeyed and sat down expecting to be
fed.
11
Jesus
brought the 5 loaves of bread and the 2 small fish from the boy and prayed to
God.
Then he gave the loaves of bread and the fish to the
disciples.
12
Then a wonderful miracle happened. As they gave the
loaves of bread and the fish, it kept on multiplying. The disciples kept on
giving out the fish and the loaves of bread until all of the people gathered
there got some.
13
The people ate and were satisfied and the collected
leftover bread and fish filled twelve baskets.
14
Jesus did not ignore the five loaves of bread and
the two small fish offered by the little kid. Furthermore, with the food from
that little boy, Jesus performed a miracle of feeding over five thousand
people with more than enough leftover.
15
God raised a little shepherd, David, to be king of
Israel because God saw the good heart he had towards God. God also raised
little Samuel to be a great priest of Israel because God saw his good faith.
16
Faith is not something you achieve when you grow up.
Even when you are young and even when you have little, if you do what you can
for Jesus, God will accept your heart and will make an amazing miracle
through you.
17
Just like the child that offered his five small
loaves of bread and the two small fish, let us think about what we can do for
Jesus right now. I hope you can put that into action.
