The Resurrected Jesus Appeared to Many People

2

(I Cor. 15:6)

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.

3

Today is Easter. To save us, Jesus took all of our sins and died on the cross and rose again on the third day. At Easter, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

4

Jesus died on the cross at Golgotha, which means the place of the skull.
Joseph of Arimathea brought the dead body of Jesus and buried Jesus in his new grave.

5

Nicodemus, who had come to see Jesus secretly a long time ago, joined the burial of Jesus. They buried Jesus in the Jewish style with the mixture of myrrh and aloes.

6

On the third day of Jesus' burial, a very surprising thing happened in the early morning. A big earthquake occurred. An angel came down from heaven. The angel rolled away the big stone that was blocking the entrance of the tomb and sat on it. Just like what Jesus said when he was alive, Jesus rose again on the third day of his death.

7

The first people to hear the news of Jesus' resurrection were the women who had come to the tomb of Jesus. When they went inside the empty tomb of Jesus, the angel of God appeared and said. "You are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He has risen and he is not here."

8

Upon hearing that, the women were scared yet very happy.
They ran to the disciples to tell this news. Then, Jesus appeared in front of them and said "Greetings." The women were so happy and fell facedown before Jesus.

9

Jesus, who has risen, appeared to the 10 disciples when Thomas was not present. Jesus showed them his hands, feet and his side, where he had been pierced by a spear. The disciples were so happy to see the risen Jesus.

10

Thomas, who was not present when Jesus appeared, did not believe the resurrection of Jesus but doubted. Thomas doubted the resurrection of Jesus, saying that he couldn't believe until he put his fingers into the side, hands and feet of Jesus.

11

Jesus knew that Thomas was doubting his resurrection. So when Thomas was with the disciples, Jesus appeared again. Thomas saw the nail marks on Jesus' hands and feet and then he believed in the resurrection of Jesus.

12

Seven out of 10 of the disciples were fishing at the Sea of Tiberias.
Jesus appeared there, too.
Then, Jesus prepared fish and bread for the disciples and they ate together.

13

In 1 Corinthians chapter 15, the Apostle Paul tells a surprising testimony about the risen Jesus. "After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have gone to heaven already."

14

"Then, Jesus appeared to James, his younger brother and lastly, Jesus appeared to me."
The Apostle Paul testified that many people had met the risen Jesus.

15

Jesus died on the cross while many people were watching him. After his rising again, Jesus appeared to many people and testified that he has risen. This was done so no one would doubt his resurrection.

16

Jesus, who has risen, made a very important promise with us. Jesus promised that on the last day, we will also rise again just like Jesus who has risen again. Jesus has presented us hope of rising again after death.

17

Believers of Jesus don't fear death because we are going to rise again like the promise of Jesus. So we should have a firm faith of believing the resurrection of Jesus. And we should tell about the risen Jesus to the people around us.
