Blind
Bartimaeus Receives His Sight
2
Mark
10:52 (NIV)
"Go,"
said Jesus, "your faith has healed you."
Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
3
One
day Jesus and his disciples went to a place called Jericho.
To hear Jesus` preaching many people gathered there.
4
It
happened when Jesus was about to leave Jericho.
Around Jesus there were many people.
5
In
the middle of the road where Jesus was going, there was a blind begger.
This begger was the son of Timaeus.
Bartimaeus knew many people were passing by.
6
Even
though he was blind he realized it was Jesus, so Bartimaeus shouted loudly.
" Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me."
7
The
crowd was surprised that a blind begger loudly called out to Jesus.
So they scolded Bartimaeus. "Be quiet, don't shout!"
The
people thought Jesus would not like to meet a blind begger.
8
But
Bartimaeus did not care about them.
He continuously called Jesus. "Son of David, Jesus Christ have mercy on
me."
9
Jesus
heard Bartimaeus shout. Jesus stopped and stood there.
Then he told to the others, "Bring that man here."
10
The
crowd listened to Jesus and said to Bartimaeus,
"Don't worry and stand up, Jesus Christ is calling you."
Bartimaeus rushed to Jesus, he even left his cloak.
11
Jesus
Christ asked to Bartimaeus, "What do you want me to do?"
Jesus asked what was Bartimaeus` wish.
12
When
Bartimaeus heard Jesus talking to him he replied,
"Teacher, I wish to see again."
Bartimaeus believed in Jesus Christ that He would make him see again.
13
Jesus
Christ saw the faith in Bartimaeus, so he proclaimed,
"Now stand up and go, your faith has cured you."
14
When
Jesus Christ said this an amazing thing happened. Bartimaeus, until then who
could not see a thing started to see something. "Ah, I can see! My eyes
are working to see!" Bartimaeus who was a blind beggar a moment ago
started to see.
15
All
those who saw Jesus cure Bartimaeus' eyes, praised the LORD. Instantly, as
Bartimaeus could see again, he followed Jesus.
16
Although
Bartimaeus was blind and a begger, he had the faith that Jesus Christ could
cure him. Jesus saw his faith and cured him.
17
So
we also should believe in God that in the worst and most difficult
situations, He will help us to win and show our faith to Jesus like
Bartimaeus.
