Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead

[John 11:25-26]

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

In Bethany there was a close friend of Jesus called Lazarus.
Lazarus had two sisters. They were Martha and Mary.

When Jesus was preaching in a different place some urgent news came.
That news was that Lazarus a close friend of Jesus was dying because of a disease.

When Jesus heard this news he said. "Lazarus` disease is not a dying matter. And also God will show something amazing."
The people thought it was weird Jesus did not go to Lazarus at that moment.

However unlike what Jesus had said, Lazarus died in his bed. So the people buried Lazarus. And 4 days passed.

At the 4th day after Lazarus` death Jesus came to Bethany together with the apostles. The younger sister of Lazarus, Martha came to greet Jesus when she heard he was coming. "Jesus, why did you come this late? If you had come before Lazarus` death he could have still lived." She said with a sad face.

Jesus replied to Martha, "Your dead brother will rise again."
Martha was so amazed when she heard what Jesus said.

Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Lazarus` other sister Mary also came and said, "Lord, if you were here, my brother would have not died." All the people who came together with Mary were all crying because of Lazarus` death.

When Jesus saw all the people crying because of sadness he said, "Where did you put Lazarus?" And he also cried.

When Jesus stood in front of Lazarus` cave he said, "Move the stone blocking the cave."
When Martha heard this she tried to stop Jesus."Jesus it's already been 4 days after my brother`s death. It will stink."

Jesus said to Martha, "If you believe your brother will rise again you will see God`s glory."
Then he started to face the sky and he began to pray.

"Father, I`m thankful that you have granted what I have said. I know you will always listen to me. However, I say this because of all the people around me, to show that I came to earth because you have sent me."

After he said that Jesus shouted loudly at the cave. "Lazarus, come out."
Jesus was telling Lazarus who was dead to walk out. However after Jesus said this, Lazarus who already had died 4 days ago walked out of the cave while covered by white strips of cloth around his body and his face.

All the people gathered there saw Lazarus rise again, and some of them began to believe in Jesus. Just like what Jesus had said, because of Lazarus people saw the glory of God. And because of the news of Lazarus rising again many people started to believe Jesus.

Jesus showed us he truly is God`s Son through this miracle.
So we should always be brave and believe Jesus will solve everything for us.
