Deuteronomy 6 : 6-9 (NIV)

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.

Since the Israelites were God's chosen people they had received special grace from Him. However, God gave them very important instructions that they must obey.

4

God called Moses, the leader of Israel to Mount Sinai.
There God gave him the 10 commandments by writing them on stone tablets that the Israelites must obey.

5

Moses summoned all of Israel and declared the 10 commandments that God had given to them. Let us read the ten commandments all together.

6

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make idols.

3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor's.

7

After Moses finished saying the 10 commandments, he said, "Be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. "

8

"Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may receive grace and live and prolong your days in the land."

9

After declaring these words, he spoke concretely about what to do to obey those words one by one.

10

The first is to keep them on your hearts. Our God is the only true God. He controls everything. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Keep His words on your hearts and live by keeping His decrees.

11

Second, Impress them on your children.
After you get married and you have children, you have to teach your children as you have learned from your parents and teachers.

12

He stated in detail about the importance of teaching the Bible to children with enthusiasm.
He said to parents, you must talk about the Bible when you sit at home and when you lie down.

13

You must teach when you get up in the morning even when you walk along the road meaning, they must teach their children to be always in God's Word.

14

Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads for you to always remember God's Word. This means we have to teach to obey God's Word in whatever we do.

15

Write them on the gates of your houses and on the door frames to see and teach them always.

16

We, who are called as the children of God should not take this lightly.
We need to be humble and careful when we face God's words and try to obey them.
We must keep them on our hearts as if we put them on our hands and foreheads.

17

My dear ones who have listened today, you have to focus your minds on listening to these words. You got to try to learn more about God's Word, so how about using your computers and smart phones to read the Bible to live by God's Word.
