God who protected Jacob in Laban's hand
|
2
|
|
[Genesis
31:29]
I have the power to harm you; but last
night the God of your father said to me,
'Be
careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.'
|
3
|
|
Jacob intercepted the blessing of his
father Isaac from his brother Esau.
In this way he tried to kill Jacob.
Jacob escaped from Esau and fled to
Paddan Aram where his uncle lived.
He lived there to help his uncle.
|

|
|
Jacob loved Laban's second daughter,
Rachel.
Laban asked Jacob to work seven years
if he wanted to marry Rachel.
Jacob believed in Laban's promise and
worked hard for seven years.
|
5
|
|
Jacob's uncle Laban was a very bad
person. on the wedding day of Jacob and Rachel,
Laban deceived Jacob and married Jacob
his first daughter Leah instead of Rachel.
Jacob married Leah without knowing
anything.
|
6
|
|
and Laban demanded Jacob again seven
more years to get him to marry Rachel.
Jacob had no choice but to accept the
offer to marry Rachel.
a few days later he married Rachel and
worked for Laban for seven more years.
|
7
|
|
Laban's bad plan is not over here.
Instead of paying the wages he gave Jacob,
he changed it to lie ten times.
Jacob promised Laban to have the lambs
when speckled lambs
were born instead of his wages.
|
8
|
|
God knew Jacob's righteousness and was
with Jacob.
When the lambs gave birth to their
cubs, they gave a lot of spotted and aaronic lambs.
Jacob became a very rich man.
|
9
|
|
When he saw this Jacob, Laban's family
became very dislike of him.
¡°Jacob took away all of our father's,
So Jacob is now rich. ¡±
Jacob accidentally heard these words.
|
10
|
|
Jacob's uncle Laban became
increasingly dislike of him.
Then God appeared to Jacob and said,
¡°return to the land where your fathers live,
and I will be with you.¡± God told
Jacob to go home now.
|
11
|
|
Jacob did not delay, but told his
family what God had done to him.
¡°God is with me. So Laban, the
father-in-law, did a lot of bad things to me,
but God took care of me and became
such a rich man. Now God told me to go back home.¡±
|
12
|
|
Rachel and Leah, who heard Jacob's
words, replied that they would return to
his hometown with Jacob according to
the word of God.
because the wives of Jacob knew that
God was with Jacob,
they have decided to leave their
father's house and follow their husbands.
|
13
|
|
Jacob and his party left secretly
without Laban and his family knowing.
He took his wives and children on a
camel and left with all his possessions.
|
14
|
|
Laban knew only three days after Jacob
had escaped from it.
Laban quickly gathered his relatives
and began to chase Jacob.
On the seventh day they came after
Jacob to the nearest.
If Jacob is caught by Laban, a very
dangerous situation will arise.
|
15
|
|
That night God appeared to Laban. and
he warned him strongly.
¡°Be careful. Go to Jacob and do not
say anything, either good or bad.¡±
Laban was so afraid. he clearly
realized that God is with Jacob.
|
16
|
|
The next day Laban met Jacob and said,
¡°I could have hurt you, but last night
God appeared to me and spoke.
He cauted not to do anything to you.¡±
Laban did nothing to Jacob.
|
17
|
|
Laban asked Jacob and the covenant
stone they promised not to hurt each other.
the name of the covenant stone is
Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha,
and Jacob called it Galeed.
The two men made promises in the name
of God and Laban returned.
|
18
|
|
God was with Jacob, so that Laban
would not harm Jacob.
He also made Laban's property and
livestock to be Jacob's
because he did unrighteousness to
Jacob.
God, with Jacob, is always with His
children today!
As a child of God, we must, like
Jacob, believe in the promises of God and
strive to be faithful people who keep
the word of God in all difficulties.
