Faith in the Only Begotten Jesus
|
2
|
|
[John
1:18]
No
one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,
who
is at the Father's side, has made him known.
|

|
|
Among
the words of the Bible we often hear is the word ¡°only begotten.¡±
The word ¡°only begotten¡± means ¡°only
one son.¡±
This only begotten Son is the word
that we believe in Jesus.
|
4
|
|
The
word "only begotten" in the Bible comes from the Gospel of John
recorded
by
John the Apostle.
The
first chapter of John's Gospel tells exactly who Jesus is, the only begotten
Son.
Tell us what time Jesus was and what
he did,
and how he has something to do with
our salvation.
|
5
|
|
The
first chapter of John begins this way.
¡°In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He
was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made;
without him nothing was made that has been made.¡±
(Jn 1:1~3)
|
6
|
|
The
apostle John describes Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, as the ¡®Word¡¯.
Jesus, the Word, was in the beginning,
the very beginning.
He was there before this world was
created.
|
7
|
|
God
created this world with His only begotten Jesus.
Nothing
in this world was created by Jesus.
It means that Jesus did all the work
of creation with God.
|
8
|
|
There
is life in Jesus. This life is the light that will soon save the world.
Jesus came directly to this earth to
shine the light of life into this world full of death.
|
9
|
|
When
he came to earth, Jesus came through the virgin Mary like a flesh like us.
Jesus,
the God, came to this earth in the flesh of man.
It is called the ¡®Incarnation¡¯ that
Jesus came to this earth in the flesh.
|
10
|
|
The ¡®Incarnation¡¯ is a word that indicates
that Jesus, the God, has become human.
|
11
|
|
John
the Baptist, who was sent from God, testified of Jesus who came in the light
of life.
Through John the Baptist, God told
people that Jesus was the light of this earth.
|
12
|
|
John
the Baptist testified about Jesus in his own mouth.
¡°This
is the one I said. ¡®There is someone who comes after me, but he is greater
than I,
because he existed before I was
born¡¯.¡±
|
13
|
|
But
the world did not accept Jesus,
who
came to this earth because it was true light and true word.
Even those who believed in God
rejected and mocked Jesus.
|
14
|
|
The
Jews who were proud of the children of Abraham believed
that
they were children of God,
but
that was not God's acknowledgment of faith.
A man born of a faithful family does
not automatically become a child of God.
|
15
|
|
Anyone
can not become a child of God without receiving Jesus.
Let
us read together John 1:12.
¡°Yet
to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children
of God¡±(Jn 1:12)
|
16
|
|
No
one in this world has ever seen God.
But
Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, showed Himself to us by being human.
When we receive Jesus by faith, we
become aware that God is our good Father.
|
17
|
|
Jesus
said this.
¡°I
am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me.¡±
(Jn
14:6)
We
must believe that, as the Bible says, Jesus,
who
came to earth in the flesh, is the true God from the beginning.
We
must also believe that only Jesus is the only begotten Son of God the Father
As the Bible says, you all want to be
faithful friends
who believe in Jesus and know God
rightly.
