Father who forgave his second son

2

[Luke 15:24]

For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'

So they began to celebrate.

3

When Jesus was on earth, he told the people who followed him the secret of heaven

through the story. Today Jesus told a story to people.

4

Someone had two sons. The first son was a man who obeyed his father well.

But the second son was not. He decided to leave his father's house anyway.

5

One day his second son came to his father and said,

¡°Father! Please give me a legacy that is supposed to be given to me anyway.¡±

The behavior of the second son was very rude behavior, as if his father were dead.

6

At the request of the second son, the father accepted the request of the son.

The father gave all of his possessions to his two sons.

7

Within a few days, the second son began to sell his property.

He made his property easy to let him go away. He left his father's house without any fuss.

8

The son who went away from his father's house believed in money.

He lived in a dreary life. He wasted money because he could do everything with money.

9

In the end, the second son spent all his money.

The bigger problem was that there was a big famine in the village and he could not get a job. He has become a poor man without money.

10

In the end, he became hungry and went to a man who lived in the town

and became a miserable person living like a slave.

The owner of the house commanded him to go out into the fields and beat the pigs.

11

The owner of the house did not give food in time. So he picked up the husks that the pigs ate. But this was not enough, and he was always hungry and miserable.

12

The second son imagined the house of his father who left him at that moment.

He remembered the abundance of the servants who worked at his father's house.

¡°My father's laborers are abundant, and I am starving to death here.¡±

The second son became aware of his miserable situation.

13

The second son decided to return to his father's home.

And he thought about what he would say to his father.

¡°Father, I have sinned against God and you.

I no longer deserve to be called your son. Consider me as one of your servants.¡±

14

The second son went to his father's house, hoping that his father would accept him

as a worker. After waiting for his son to return after his son left, the father immediately recognized the son walking from far away and ran to hold and kissed him.

15

The second son told his father what he had prepared:

¡°Father, I have sinned before God and you. I am not worthy to be called your son.¡±

16

But his father did not listen to his son, but said to his servants,

¡°But the father said to his servants, ¡®Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him.

Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it.

Let¡¯s have a feast and celebrate.¡±(Lk 15:22~23)

17

That evening his father rejoiced greatly because he had a great feast for his second son.

18

The second son left him because he did not want to live with his father.

He spent all his possessions as well as his own desires.

But when he returned to his father's house to acknowledge his mistake of leaving his father, the father received his son again with great love and grace.

19

God, like this second son, appeared in today's Word and gave us wonderful mercies

to our sinful people. By sending Jesus to us and believing, He has cleansed all our sins

and made us even children of God!

It is not surprising that we can call God the Father and worship God today.

Let us recall the mercy and love of God toward us today through the Word.

I hope that all our friends who are always living with our Heavenly Father.
