What
comes out of the mouth defiles a man
2
[Matthew
15:18]
But the things that come out of a person¡¯s
mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.

The
Pharisees and the Law Teachers really hated Jesus. They tried to embarrass
Jesus with even a small problem.
4
Some people
from Jerusalem came to Jesus today. They saw Jesus' disciples eating without
washing their hands before eating.
5
They went
to Jesus right away and said, ¡°Why do not your disciples obey the laws that
elders have given us? And why do your disciples eat with dirty hands instead
of washing their hands before eating?¡±
6
The
Pharisees placed great importance on the various laws that came down from
their ancestors. One of the laws was to wash your hands when you were eating.
It was strictly forbidden to eat with dirty hands without washing hands.
7
In addition
to this, when they came back to the market, they had to wash their bodies and
eat food. In addition, they set and kept what they needed to keep their
kettles, pots, bowls, and even beds clean. If it wasn't clean, I thought
dirty things would get into their bodies.

On hearing
this, Jesus cried out loudly to them. ¡°Why do you keep the traditions
established by the elders, who are humans, but do not keep the commandments
of God? Jesus said that they broke the command of God while valued the
traditions of the elders.
9
Jesus kept
telling them what they did wrong. ¡°God said, 'Honor your father and mother.'
He also said, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother will die.' But you use
tradition as an excuse to not honor your parents and ignore the Word of God.¡±
10
At that
time, the Pharisees and the Law Teachers were breaking God's Word according
to the wrong tradition. They made a mistake against their parents by using
the wrong tradition of serving God who is higher than their parents.
11
Jesus, who
scolded the Pharisees and the Law Teachers, called people to give important
lessons. ¡°All of you listen to me and realize. There is nothing that enters
the body outside of man and defiles him. Coming from man defiles man.¡±
12
The
disciples did not understand Jesus' words correctly. So they returned home
and asked Jesus to tell him what it meant.
13
Jesus
explained to the disciples what it meant. ¡°Everything that goes into your
mouth goes into your stomach and eventually goes out of your body. But what
comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. These things make people dirty.¡±
14
People care
about eating clean things when they eat food. But Jesus told me what to pay
more attention to. It is a word that comes out of our heart and is passed
through our mouth.
15
Keep in
mind that what is really dirty is what comes out of the heart and is
communicated through the mouth and actions. Evil thoughts, a desire to
quarrel, a coveted one, a deceitful one, a liable to slander, a bad thought
the opposite sex, a hateful heart, all come out of us to defile and defile
others.
16
The New
Testament, the book of James tells us how scary the tongue is.
¡°The tongue
also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the
whole body, sets the whole course of one¡¯s life on fire, and is itself set on
fire by hell.¡± (Jms 3:6)

I hope that
today's message will tell you what is really dirty. We need to know that what
comes through our mouths and actions is more dirty and ugly, not into our
mouths. Starting today, before you can speak and act in yourself, you must
seek the help of the Holy Spirit so that you can glorify God.
