Title

1

Jesus calms the wind and the sea

2

[Mark 4:39]

Then Jesus said, ¡°Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.¡±

3

Today Jesus taught many people about the kingdom of God. In order to make it easier for one person to know the Word, he used several parables to share it.

4

It wasn't until evening that Jesus' teaching was over. Jesus got on a boat to go somewhere else. He told his disciples to go to an area across the Sea of Galilee.

5

After seeing Jesus go on a boat, other ships around him started. Not long after the ship departed, Jesus slept with a pillow.

6

When the ship came to the middle of the sea, a sudden strong wind blew. The calm sea then began to make big waves.

7

The ship shook precariously in front of strong winds and waves The waves started to get into the boat. The disciples were overwhelmed by the fear that the ship might be upside down.

8

At that time, the disciples awoke Jesus, who was sleeping poorly. ¡°Teacher we are dead. Save us.¡± When he heard his disciples beg for help, he woke up.

9

Awakened from sleep, Jesus got up and commanded the wind and the sea. ¡°Be calm. Keep quiet.¡±

10

When the words of Jesus were finished, the wind stopped and the sea became calm. He commanded toward nature with powerful words and listened to and obeyed Jesus' words.

11

Jesus, who calmed the wind and the sea, told his disciples: ¡°Why are you afraid? Is there still no faith?¡± Jesus rebuked the disciples for their lack of faith.

12

The disciples have seen Jesus who performs amazing miracles with the power of God. But when their lives came at stake, they couldn't think or believe what Jesus was in the boat with.

13

The reason why the wind and the sea calmed down in Jesus' words was because he was the Creator. Jesus created the whole world with the Father God.

14

1 Corinthians 8: 6 says it clearly in the Bible.

¡°yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.¡± (1Co 8:6)

15

Jesus who came to earth to save us is God. He was with God when He created this world through the Word. By calming the wind and the sea, Jesus showed his disciples authority over the whole world.

16

The disciples saw this miracle before their eyes and confessed. ¡°Who is this, because the wind and the sea obey him?¡± They met Jesus who obeyed nature and exalted Him.

17

Today, we live with Jesus, who created the whole world. The biggest and most difficult problem is nothing before Jesus who leads us. When we are in trouble, if we lift our eyes to look at Jesus and rely on him, God who knows everything will comfort us with peace that the world cannot know. May you be friends who live by faith only through the grace and peace you receive through Jesus.
