Jesus
transformed into a glorious face
2
[Matthew 17:2]
There he was
transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became
as white as the light.
3
Jesus went
up a high mountain to pray with Peter, James, and James's brother John. Jesus
and his disciples spent time praying together there.
4
An amazing
scene arose when Jesus prayed. The appearance of Jesus has changed. Jesus'
face glowed like the sun. The clothes became white as light.
5
The more
amazing thing was that there were characters recorded in the Old Testament.
One of them was Moses, who wrote the Law. And another was the prophet Elijah
who went up to heaven without dying.
6
Jesus, who
had changed, had a very deep conversation with them. They talked about Jesus
suffering and dying in Jerusalem. Jesus and these are talking about what
Jesus will do to save us.
7
The three
men who climbed up with Jesus were asleep and saw this scene and woke up.
They looked at the incredible sight of three people talking together. It felt
as if they were in heaven.

After
speaking with Jesus, Moses and Elijah were about to leave. When Peter saw it,
he asked Jesus: ¡¼As the men
were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be
here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for
Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.)¡½

In front of
the mysterious scene, Peter spoke to Jesus without knowing what he was
talking about. As Peter said this, clouds came and covered the three
disciples. The disciples in the cloud were in awe of the moment.
10
God's voice
came in the clouds. "This is my Son, who is chosen; hear him." God
has proved that Jesus is the Son of God. God also told them to believe what
Jesus says because it is true.
11
The voice
ceased and the cloud disappeared. After the cloud disappeared, only Jesus was
in front of the disciples' eyes. Moses and Elijah had already disappeared.
12
A few days
ago, for the first time, Jesus first told his disciples what he would go
through. Jesus told us that He would be resurrected three days after
suffering and dying to save us.
13
Upon
hearing that, Peter told Jesus: ¡°It can't be that way. Lord! This will never
happen! ¡±Peter thought to Jesus that it should not happen.
14
Upon
hearing this, Jesus spoke strongly toward Peter. ¡°Get behind me, Satan! You
make me fall You do not think of God's work but only man's work.¡±
15
After this,
He told them that all the words of Jesus were true on Mount of Change. Peter,
John, and James came to believe on the Mount of Change that Jesus was the Son
of God who came to earth to save us.
16
Jesus
showed His glory as a Son of God by changing Himself before His disciples. By
speaking with Moses and Elijah, symbolized by the Old Testament law and
prophets, he revealed that he was the Messiah who would fulfill God's
promises.
17
Jesus, the
Son of God, shined with brilliant heavenly glory, came to earth as the
Messiah to save the whole world. Innocent Jesus must suffer and die to save
us sinful. That was God's plan to save us.
You have to be a believer who believes that
Jesus is the Messiah who came to earth to save me and delivers that faith to
those who do not yet believe in Jesus as the Son of God.
