A person who has no mistakes with his words
2
[ James 3:2 ]
We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is
never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole
body in check.

People make mistakes because of many
words in their lives. However, in the Bible, a person who does not make
mistakes is said to be a perfect person, or ¡°perfect person.¡±
¡°We all stumble in many ways. If
anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep
his whole body in check.¡±(James 3:2)
4
This means that people have many
mistakes in words. It is so difficult to make no mistakes because of words.
5
Subsequently, in the Bible, the
tongue used when speaking was also called ¡°fire¡±.
¡°The tongue also is a fire,¡±(James
3:6)
Why did the Bible say that the tongue
is fire?
6
Numerous wildfires occur every year.
Forest fires burn tens of thousands of trees. In some cases, people's homes
and lives are lost due to forest fires. The cause of a large forest fire
usually starts with a very small ember.
7
The tongue is like this ¡°fire¡±. This
little ember-like tongue spits out a great quarrel. Also, the whole society
is often in great turmoil.
8
The Bible also said that the tongue
is like a small 'wheel' on a ship. The direction of the ship is determined by
the small 'wheel', which is also controlled by the navigator for large ships.
The ship must be able to operate normally only when the navigator has
directed the wheel.
9
Even in the event of a big storm, if
you steer well with the wheel, you can safely sail away from the storm.
However, if the navigator accidentally orients the wheel incorrectly, he will
go into the storm and sink the ship. If he moves the small wheel incorrectly,
something terrifying can happen that can even sink a big ship.

Trainers can tame ferocious beasts.
Small birds and even reptiles and fish are tamed by trainers. But there is
something that no one can tame, the Bible says.
11
It is the tongue. No one has ever
tamed this tongue. The Bible says that the untamed tongue is evil in itself
and full of poison that kills people.
¡°but no man can tame the tongue. It
is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.¡± (James
3:8)
12
The tongue can never be tamed by human
power. Only the Holy Spirit can tame your tongue so that there are no
mistakes. Those who believe in Jesus and receive salvation help the Holy
Spirit not to make mistakes with his words.
13
The saved children of God praise and
glorify God. The saved child of God praises others with words. The saved
child of God speaks to comfort and strengthen others. The Holy Spirit helps
you do that.
14
But what if you said you were saved
and acted like this? Sometimes God exalts and praises. And sometimes, with
that mouth that praised God, he cursed others and made bad words in the image
of God.
15
The Bible clearly says that this
cannot happen. Two different kinds of water cannot come from one fountain,
and olive fruits cannot be formed from a fig tree.
16
We became children of God who
received valuable salvation through faith in Jesus. When everyone becomes a
child of God, the Holy Spirit leads them to bring good things out of their
mouths. The Holy Spirit guides them to prevent words from cursing others from
the lips that praise God.
17
You have to think about whether a
mistake made by what I said has a bad effect on others. Those who become
children of God must speak words that help others to be courageous and
empowering. I hope you will always be with the Holy Spirit who will help you
avoid making mistakes when you speak.
